The SLP-8 , with a height of 1,550 mm and a true 8 t LHD , is also well established in the low profile mining industry in southern Africa . The machine is now available with a DPF system , and operations of lock-up and VDT for speed control supporting performance and productivity improvements on site . With an in-house control system , multi-level “ on machine ” fault finding , drivetrain component protection and machine condition monitoring to name but a few of the options which support ease of maintenance and low running costs of the machine . All the machines come with PDS interface and bucket weighing as well .
One of the growing needs of the low profile hardrock mining industry is to fit as large as possible machines into the development ends , in order to maximise productivity . With the main declines being slightly larger than the production ends various operations opt for larger LHDs in these haulages , to maximise productivity , and also move away from conventional conveyor belt , with grizzly loading , and move towards truck loading and haulage .
GHH told IM it is therefore working on beefing up its offering and by the end of the year will have a new , super low profile , 10 t LHD , the SLP- 10 , in the market . With 201 kW this machine will not only have best power rating in its class but
also best tramming speed and hydraulic speeds in its class as well as pressures below 230 bar . Although designed to partner with the MK-30LP perfectly , it can also load any 30 t low profile truck available in the market . This loader is perfectly partnered with the MK-30LP , 30 t low profile truck , which is already in available in the standard profile version , and exactly the same apart from the cabin , rear axle and dump box . The 2,000 mm high MK-30LP , 30 t truck , boasts the GHH robust frame and system with the best power , at 320 kW , in its class . With a best in class dumping angle of 65 degrees and tight turning radius , the compactness makes it excellent for negotiating tight low profile mining environments . There is an ergonomically designed , spacious , well air conditioned cabin for a low profile truck as well as a roof window to be able to see the dump box when it fully lifted . The oscillating articulation provides for added operator comfort as well as negotiating difficult underground footwall conditions .
GHH also has an offering in the narrow vein space offering the LF-3 and LF-7 LHDs and the MK-A20 dump truck . The LF-3 is a 3.5 t narrow vein LHD . With a simple modular electric system , overlayed condition monitoring and remotecontrol interface and a modular design for ease of slinging in smaller narrow vein operations . Not only can the LF-3 operate at 4,500 m above sea level but it also has a high lift boom option
allowing for truck loading with a significant amount of trucks offered in the market . It also has a QSF Stage V engine in development as well as closed cabin and air conditioner .
The LF-7 , the 7 t LHD , has a Stage V engine option , it also has a best in class tramming speed , tipping height and ground clearance . Along with this and the fact that it has optional larger , 18x25 , tyres available , the machine is designed for optimal performance in narrow vein operations this maximising productivity . The LF-7 also has an ambient temperature rating of 53 ° C . It has simple modular electrics as well as simple gear pump working hydraulics for ease of maintenance and to keep operating costs as low as possible .
While the LF-7 is the perfect partner for the MK-A20 , the LF-3 can also load the MK-A20 when fitted with a 7.5 m3 dump box . The MK-A20 is one of GHH ’ s most renowned and legacy products with a reputation as being top of the list when it comes to robustness , reliability and productivity while simultaneously having extremely low operating costs . The MK-A20 has both forward and side facing operator seat options and also has a closed , air conditioned cabin option . The oscillating articulation , one of GHH ’ s key features of their underground trucks , allows for maximum operator comfort as well as the ability to negotiate difficult terrain in an
underground environment .
