MINE MAINTENANCE
One of the coverage areas of DINGO ’ s Trakka platform to accelerate in demand over recent years has been the digitisation of visual inspections on equipment
Dingo ’ s software offering effectively closes the loop of workflow management , the company says .
“ Sites might have their pre-operating checklist that we can input and build out ,” Tollman said . “ It doesn ’ t just go into the ERP system ; it can be associated with the overall health of the asset within Trakka . Tracking issues with images and trending these issues for what could be considered a reduction in ‘ high potential failures ’ allows the site to align the work in a much more organised manner .”
Dingo is working with several customers that operate autonomous truck fleets to deploy digital checklists . The follow-on data analysis is integral to keeping assets working – especially as , in many instances , no operators are physically interacting with the machine from within the cab to pick up on any visual or audio cues that may indicate potential issues .
“ They ( these autonomous haulage operations ) have daily inspections that are required by the safety regulators in that region , so these checklists help them comply on a daily basis ,” Tollman said .
Some of these same customers have been taking a more centralised approach to asset management with remote operating centres that monitor several sites and hundreds of mobile assets . Trakka , according to Tollman , is allowing them to successfully operate in this manner by providing data logs and integrating this information into the wider workflow .
“ This can help with improving safety , achieving better consistency of operations and standardising procedures ,” he said . “ For asset management and the supply chain specifically , it could allow them to make better decisions at both a site and global level .”
On-board sensor data is also more readily being harvested , analysed and actioned by Trakka , which aligns with this type of centralised maintenance oversight .
Dingo says it has spent years refining dashboards that “ filter through the data noise ” and focus on specific areas of interest that can be integrated with ERP systems .
As an example , Trakka is allowing the asset management team at a large gold mining operation in northern Nevada – one of Dingo ’ s long-time customers – to identify components or compartments that are indicating issues , based on the platform ’ s Alert Profiles . The integration between SAP and Trakka at these operations brings together all pertinent data in one system , in a centralised view , while the Component Profiles module retains important data , such as manufacturer , model component oil types , cost , capacity and more , Dingo says .
And , at certain mining customer sites , data obtained by Trakka is being fed back into sophisticated algorithms to predict specific failure modes for clients , according to Tollman .
“ We have been doing a lot of work around final drive failure modes ,
