Best friends Chris Scheuerman and Andrew Jenkins decided to produce a film to introduce their ambitions to do work fueled by passion and truthfulness. Scheuerman would write and direct, and Jenkins would star as the title character. With tremendous support from friends, family, and the film industry, Lost Solace was produced by Scheuerman, Jenkins, Lori Triolo and David Angelski in the summer of 2014, and completed early 2016.

The film played at Cinequest to glowing reviews, being cited as "an astonishingly successful debut for (writer) and director Chris Scheuerman. (The lead character) Spence doesn’t even speak until well into the movie..." Lead actor Andrew Jenkins "is completely believable as both the supremely confident Spence and, later, as the Spence determined to steel his way through his unexpected confusion." -The Movie Gourmet

Scheuerman drew heavily from his experiences battling depression and a debilitating panic disorder. Two years of cognitive therapy had Scheuerman waking up to a new way of thinking and feeling. This personal experience with the plastic brain, along with intensive research inneuropsychology, was the springboard for the screenplay, and Jenkins’ inspired performance.

“Chris Scheuerman is a filmmaker worth paying close attention to. His current feature Lost Solace is a thought-provoking, stylish thriller signaling a strong new voice in cinema.”-Tom Cox, Executive Producer (Heartland, Wynona Earp, Brokeback Mountain, The Assassination of Jesse James) Seven24 Films, Former Chair of the CMPA.
