There is a lot of highlights to pick among the circa-2,000 exhibitors set to attend CONEXPO-CON / AGG, in Las Vegas, this March, so IM is using its mining technology lens to filter out some of the noise across the approximately 269,420 sq. m of space at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Reshaping what’ s possible
It is right to start at the large end of town, with Caterpillar’ s four locations across the show the first under the microscope.
Closing its year-long centennial celebration, Caterpillar’ s CONEXPO exhibits will demonstrate the company’ s commitment to helping its customers‘ Reshape What’ s Possible’ through an ensemble that includes new machines and technology, to services and rental options.
Anchoring the company’ s participation, Caterpillar’ s Festival Grounds exhibit will feature Operator Stadium, which will host the nine finalists participating in the company’ s third Global Operator Challenge.
Caterpillar is also expanding its presence
12 at CONEXPO with a West Hall display that will be dedicated to its compact construction equipment, while Cat ® Industrial Power Systems will be exhibiting its latest industrial diesel engine innovations in the South Hall.
The OEM says:“ The exhibits will showcase the latest technologies in the construction industry that are meeting today’ s needs and anticipating tomorrow’ s challenges. Visitors to the exhibit will experience the company’ s evolution in autonomous machines and the tangible impact of artificial intelligence on the industry. These advancements in intelligent systems and integrated digital platforms are designed to deliver continuous value that evolves and optimises customer outcomes – reshaping what’ s possible. The company will also highlight the latest tech tools that will allow customers to focus more on service and operational efficiency.”

At Operator Stadium, visitors will be able to get a preview of the next generation 160 motor grader with joystick control, Caterpillar says
Collision Mitigation, will be introduced during both Cat’ s in-the-dirt demos in Operator Stadium as well as with a hands-on experience.
At Operator Stadium, visitors will be able to check out more than 30 machines, including a preview of the next generation Cat 150 motor grader offering both joystick and lever controls, as well as the next generation 160 motor grader with joystick control. The new dozer on display will unveil Caterpillar’ s second high drive electric drive medium dozer that offers high levels of productivity, fuel efficiency and ease of operation, as well as low service and maintenance costs, it says.
Attendees will learn more about the new Services Commitment now available in North America with new, renewed or upgraded Customer Value Agreements.
Cat Rentals will showcase its newly refreshed brand and modernised digital experience, giving visitors an inside look at how its dealer network is ready to deliver more convenience, more options and a better online experience, the OEM says.
