Eastport says it is employing a range of geologic technologies and leveraging historical data to drive exploration forward at the Semarule REE project
and delineate areas of interest within the property for testing .
Following analysis and interpretation of the airborne magnetic survey , Eastport has progressed with geochemical sampling , where it has undertaken rock-chip sampling of the exposed syenite host rock . Laboratory analysis by ALS Global has reported total rare earth oxide ( TREO ) levels of up to 5,097 parts per million ( ppm ), with a subset of the magnet minerals – neodymium , praseodymium , dysprosium and terbium – returning up to 1,270 ppm .
Further to the geophysics and geochemistry works , exploration will advance to exploratory drilling , where Eastport can use a selection of down-hole probes and scanners to generate extra data on the subsurface composition and extent of mineralisation at the project , it says .
Portable X-ray Fluorescence devices , specifically the Thermo Fisher Scientific™ Niton™ XL3 Analyser , have also been used for rapid on-site analysis of rock and soil samples . Eastport says : “ This technology has accelerated the mapping of REE mineralisation , allowing exploration to progress more efficiently . Eastport plans to make extensive use of these portable field tools in addition to laboratory analysis .”
Niton XRF analysers are equipped with the best combination of hardware and software to enhance analytical performance , according to Thermo Fisher Scientific . “ Low detection limits allow you to measure concentrations at or below the averages naturally found in the earth ’ s crust – detecting even the most subtle geochemical anomalies ,” it says .

The use of several advanced technologies has been instrumental in advancing and understanding the Semarule project , Eastport says . By integrating geophysical , geochemical and drilling methods , Eastport is aiming to fully delineate the Semarule Intrusive Complex and determine its economic viability as a significant REE resource . mineral exploration and mining industry .
