Walker added that over 90 % of the roller deliveries had already taken place to a series of staging areas along the conveyor route so they can be used there and then in that immediate area . Of course the Dune Express conveyor system follows the terrain with a number of curves so the Belt-Idlers in some parts of the conveyor are tipped to facilitate these turns .
Syntron met stringent quality standards : " We had to meet specific rolling resistance standards ; plus the Vayeron sensors were all tested during installation in what we call end of line testing . Almost 99.9 % of the rollers made at the factory met or exceeded the required standards which is a really good number for the industry ."
Moving away from Dune Express specifically , another string to Syntron ' s bow is the Sure Align Tracker belt alignment system , designed for demanding applications found in various material handling sectors to address productivity and efficiency challenges . This technology joined Syntron when it acquired Conveyors Plus Ltd in Canada in November 2022 . The belt trackers are used on belt widths from 12 to 160 in . The rollers are manufactured with half-inch rubber lagging , and the return trackers are installed on the clean side of the belt . The trackers have proven effective on both slow-speed feeder belts and high-speed belts up to 7 m per second .

Enduride highlights the fact that there are two main causes for roller replacement : seizure and shell wear . “ Seizure is caused by ineffective sealing , incorrect bearing sizing , bearing grease contamination and excessive deflection . As for roller shell wear , this is influenced by the abrasive nature of the materials conveyed , as well as by roller alignment and blocking . If left untreated , this wear can damage the belt .
