‘ Any task in every type of rock ’
Drill rigs , rock drills , down-the-hole hammers , and a flexible and smart grouting system are to be showcased at the Epiroc booth during the three-day event .
Epiroc is set to display two of its rigs – the SmartROC T25 R and the SmartROC T40 MKII – at the show .
The SmartROC T25 R , which will pre-launch during CONEXPO , is a new surface radio remote drill rig based on a whole new platform . The construction-focused rig offers , according to the company , exceptional coverage area , excellent “ terrainability ”, application versatility and is fitted with the Epiroc Rig Control System ( RCS ). This unit will be available to order for Norwegian and Swedish markets during the June quarter , according to Epiroc .
The SmartROC T40 MKII , meanwhile , is a tophammer surface drill rig meant for quarrying and construction . “ When it comes to fuel efficiency , the SmartROC T40 MKII burns less diesel than any other rig in its class ,” Epiroc says . The COP SC25X-HE rock drill , which comes with a built-in hydraulic extractor , can be fitted to the SmartROC T40 MKII . This high-impact energy rock drill has been developed for a recommended service interval of 800 percussive hours , ensuring its proven drilling performance can be observed for longer durations .
The drill has two different stroke settings to optimise performance in line with hole size and rock condition . It also offers , Epiroc says , optimised rock contact while simultaneously protecting the rock drill from harmful energy recoils . Also being exhibited at CONEXPO is the COP SC14 hydraulic rock drill for small surface construction drilling .

Another product preview set for CONEXPO is the Epiroc DTH 5 hammer .
These hammers offer more drilled meters per shift , higher profitability , and the versatility needed to tackle any type of rock and task with outstanding results , according to Epiroc .
Set to launch this spring , the Epiroc DTH 5 hammer is a significant upgrade to predecessors with a versatile range and longer service life , providing 12 configurations in one system , according to the company . It offers a 5 % higher penetration rate and 10 % longer life , meaning more productive and profitable work with fewer time-consuming and heavy tool changes .
Delaney Erickson , Global Product Manager Epiroc DTH , said : “ Many customers hesitate to take on new jobs as they must change systems . Here , they get 12 configurations in one range and can handle a huge number of tasks with a minimal need for spare parts . The Epiroc DTH 5 hammer is simply an incredibly user-friendly range suitable for any task in every type of rock .”
In January , Epiroc also launched its brand new DTH drill bits , which , thanks to a new design and the use of Epiroc carbide , improve productivity and profitability while ensuring better workdays for operators .
Coming with an all-new face design and more buttons , these bits are expected to last 20 % longer than previous versions .
Lastly , Epiroc is set to bring a flexible and smart grouting system to the CONEXPO crowd .
The company ’ s complete grouting solutions are designed to minimise mobilisation , simplify usage and maximise grouting efficiency . With improved automation features available in the smart series , customers can get full connectivity and control over their civil construction operations , according to Epiroc .
Visitors at CONEXPO will get the opportunity to view the complete Unigrout Flex system at the show , which consists of a manually-operated grouting platform that includes a mixer , agitator and injection pump .
“ Thanks to a compact all-in-one design , the rig is easy to relocate at the work site and its straightforward manual system will ensure great results with the correct pressure and flow rate during grouting ,” Epiroc said . “ Standalone products , such as Logac and additive systems , can be added to further expand its functionality .”
The improved Unigrout M2 S pushes the boundaries within grouting further , offering increased digitalisation and automation . It comes equipped with the RCS 5 , which not only operates the unit but also uses recorded data for optimal performance . It also offers connectivity between the Unigrout M2 S and the drilling unit , whether underground or on surface , creating a base for digitalisation of the complete process from hole to grout .
