COVER: Dyno Nobel
This month’ s cover from Dyno Nobel showcases a record-setting blast from the BHP Billiton Iron Ore Jimblebar operation in Western Australia. The blast, which used 6,382 Dyno Nobel DigiShot Plus electronic detonators and more than 2,500 tonnes of bulk explosives loaded over a two-week period, liberated 10.7 million tonnes of iron ore. At the time of initiation, it set a world record for the largest number of electronic detonators fired in a single blast and a Western Australian record for the largest open cut mine blast.
