technology. As a provider of conveyor and hoisting machines and systems for shaft hoisting and heavy-load handling equipment as well as for cooling mines and tunnels, the group is one of the leaders in the world market. It says a technology-oriented corporate culture and qualified, highly motivated employees are the driving forces for this along with innovative products and services.
Back in 2020, SIEMAG TECBERG signed a contract with TNC Kazchrome JSC for the supply of shaft hoisting systems. This was the first contract of its kind for SIEMAG TECBERG in Kazakhstan which involved two 4-rope Koepe hoisting machines in a towermounted arrangement, each with 5.3 MW of electric drive power.
In 2025, SIEMAG TECBERG was also awarded the Zholymbet project at Altynalmas. The scope of supply includes a 3.25 m-diameter main shaft with one cage / counterweight at a depth of 1,000 m, with a payload of 11 t and a speed of 12 m per second. The project also includes a 3.25 m diameter skip hoist with a payload of 13 t and a speed of 13 m per second at a depth of 1,000 m. Both are tower-mounted.
Fast forward to March 2026, when SIEMAG TECBERG group expanded its presence in central Asia by opening a new subsidiary in Almaty, Kazakhstan, underscoring its confidence in the region’ s
growing demand for state-of-the-art hoist systems. The company stated:“ By establishing SIEMAG TECBERG Kazakhstan, we are reinforcing our commitment to the central Asian market, a region characterised by significant opportunities, strong partnerships and ambitious projects that will shape the future of the mining industry. By expanding our regional presence, we can identify opportunities more quickly, support projects more effectively and cultivate longlasting relationships in this dynamic, growing market.”
India is one of its other fast-growing markets today, as miners there look to modernise ore extraction from existing underground mines and develop new greenfield operations. SIEMAG TECBERG was recently awarded the contract for all four shaft hoisting systems at Hindustan Copper Ltd’ s flagship Malanjkhand Copper Project( MCP). The MCP is one of the most significant underground mining developments currently underway in India and will play a key role in meeting the country’ s growing demand for domestically sourced copper. SIEMAG TECBERG stated:“ The award of all four shaft hoisting systems further strengthens SIEMAG TECBERG group’ s long-standing presence in the Indian mining sector and reflects our continued commitment to supporting the development of world-class underground mining
SIEMAG TECBERG is also supplying the world’ s largest double-drum Blair hoisting machine for Agnico Eagle’ s Odyssey gold mine in Quebec
infrastructure across the region.”
SIEMAG TECBERG will also collaborate with its long-term partner, DCS Ltd in Hyderabad, to deliver two complete 5.1 m diameter, four-rope friction hoists for the production shaft. These hoists will incorporate SIEMAG TECBERG’ s advanced multi-channel closed-loop braking systems, as well as a mechanical package, drive technology, control and automation systems, rope sheaves, and other associated equipment.
In parallel, contracts have recently been signed for the service shaft in partnership with SK Khetan Ltd in Udaipur. This includes one four-rope friction hoist and one singledrum hoist, as well as complete systems incorporating advanced braking systems,
