FLEET MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS location information for your equipment and people tracking. So that’ s where we’ re coming with this light solution, OP Pro with a lighter hardware footprint on board and a lighter feature set, both of which mean we can offer it with more competitive pricing for those smaller customers or contractors.”
He also said that one of the powerful things about the lighter OP Pro is that it’ s actually part of the OP Pro ecosystem, so the customer is not buying a separate product line, and then later on when they scale they have to drop the lighter system and switch to back to OP Pro.“ You’ re basically just buying a lighter version of the full solution, so you don’ t have to face this big decision point. You have future proofed yourself without over-investing now but you have something that will work in the future as it’ s scalable. You can buy the light solution now. When it comes time to enhance it and get additional features or capabilities, we can adjust the cost structure and add those in from the OP Pro ecosystem along with some minor hardware addition.”
Kowalchuk added:“ You can go quite far with the hardware we’ re going to install from the start. And then some of the key final features, you would need some tweaks, but it wouldn’ t be a full replacement, just some additional sensors.”
Hexagon has the advantage of having a full time beta open pit mining partner in the US that now tests all of its relevant key mining technologies – it’ s a relatively small mine by global standards but still offers that real world test bed. The second beta customer for the single core project is a large copper mining partner in Chile.
The lighter version is also advanced but with a commercial launch targeted for the second half of 2026.
Fast2Mine’ s dynamic allocation & real-time dispatch
Fast2Mine, now a Weir Software Solutions company, told IM that is expanding the capabilities of its Mine Management System( MMS) with new technologies designed to improve fleet coordination, operational visibility and decision support in open-pit mining operations.
Developed by professionals with direct experience in mining and technology, the Fast2Mine platform integrates operational data, performance indicators and real-time analytics within a unified digital environment. This enables operations, planning and management teams to monitor equipment availability, utilisation and production performance while maintaining a continuous view of mine activity.
Today, Fast2Mine solutions are deployed across more than 90 mining operations worldwide, monitoring over 7,000 assets and supporting more than 25,000 daily users. The growing adoption of the platform reflects the increasing demand for integrated digital systems capable of supporting data-driven decision-making and more complex mining operations.
Following its integration into the global Weir Group ecosystem, Fast2Mine has accelerated the development of new technologies while expanding its ability to support mining operations across multiple regions.
According to Eder Griebeler, CEO of Fast2Mine, the partnership represents a significant step in the evolution of the company’ s technology and global reach:“ Joining the Weir Group allows us to scale the development of our technologies and bring our solutions to a broader range of mining operations worldwide. Our focus remains the same: delivering practical digital tools that help operations improve efficiency, visibility and operational control.”
As part of Weir’ s Software Solutions group, Fast2Mine now works alongside other mining technology platforms such as Micromine and Motion Metrics. The collaboration supports the development of a broader digital ecosystem for mining operations, connecting capabilities across mine planning, operational management,
