SEPARATION TECHNOLOGIE S stream with a dense medium of selected specific gravity( SG) in a mixing box and passing this mixture through a dense medium cyclone( DM cyclone). It is here that separation of the high and low SG fractions of the ore occurs.
Bond Equipment modular DMS plants’ throughput capacities are 8, 20, 50, 100 & 150 t / h. Its latest generation modular cyclone DMS plants it says offer improvement in the following areas: enhanced dense medium SG control; improved dense medium plus ore mixing; economical dense medium recovery; plus a separate drain and rinse screen for each of the sinks and floats streams for applications with high concentrate mass yields.
Bond adds that it uses first-class proprietary equipment in its plants eg Warman pumps and densifiers, Eriez Magnetics drum magnetic separators, Multotec cyclones and screens, Debex SG controllers and Siemens electrical switchgear.
In addition, Downer-owned Mineral Technologies, best known for its market leading spirals, is now working with Bond Equipment to explore density separation products. This partnership will leverage MT ' s expertise in mineral processing with Bond Equipment ' s innovative density separation technologies.
The companies said the collaboration between MT and Bond Equipment“ will bring together two of the industry ' s leading companies to explore
SG S Bateman- lithium ore DMS plants
SGS Bateman pioneered its first modular lithium DMS plant in 2012. SGS Bateman says it has been at the forefront of innovation, offering cutting-edge modular mineral processing plants that have revolutionised the industry
.
Since the 1960s, it says its competitive modular plant solutions have not only r educed risks through proven designs but also accelerated project implementation and maximised returns, even in challenging project locations. Modular plants are used in the beneficiation and recovery of a wide range of commodities, including lithium, diamonds, coal, graphite, copper, andalusite, chromite, platinum and gold. With the global shift towards clean energy
, its commitment to sustainability and ec ofriendly practices led the company to supply its first chemical grade
50 t / h lithium DMS plant to a leading lithium
minerals( spodumene) concentrate producer in Australia. This significant milestone was followed by the successful delivery of a second

new and innovative density separation solutions. This partnership has the potential to revolutionise the way minerals are processed and to create significant value for customers.”
Bond has seen a lot of demand for DMS in alluvial diamond processing. A typical process route for alluvial diamond ores embraces scalping of oversize rubble from the run-of-mine ore, scrubbing and screening of the scalped ore stream, extracting a heavy mineral concentrate from a targeted size fraction via dense medium separation( DMS), X-ray sorting of the DMS concentrate steam and final hand sorting system.
Kimberlitic-type material requires the inclusion of a crushing circuit for primary and secondary size reductions and the recycling of arising‘ tails.’
Security of the concentrate stream developing from the process is given utmost importance in
100 t / h DMS plant several years later, significantly increasing the processing capacity
.
It says the recognition of its expertise and reliability then led to the construction of a third 150 t / h lithium processing plant for the same client in 2023.“ Each plant is meticulously constructed, fully trial-erected, and pre-commissioned in South Africa before being carefully stripped down and packed into containers for dispatch to the designated project site. This approach ensures streamlined installation and swift operation, minimising downtime and maximising efficiency.”

Holman Wilfley – shak
ing tables perform in Greenland in
Spain
Amaroq Minerals Ltd, an independent mine development company with a substantial land package of gold and strategic mineral assets in Southern Greenland, recently announced it had completed the first gold pour at its cornerstone Nalunaq gold mine in Greenland on 27 November 2024. The first gold pour at Nalunaq took place on November 27, 2024, producing 1.2 kg( 39 troy ounces) of gold after a 10-hour processing period. The company will continue to optimise the processing plant during Phase 1 commissioning and aims to conduct a gold pour on a weekly basis. Phase 2 commissioning, incorporating the flotation circuit, is due to complete in Q2 2025. Ramp-up to a steady state nameplate plant capacity of 260-300 t per day of material between 12-16 g / t Au is expected to take place in Q4 2025.
At the heart of the plant is a UK-made Holman Wilfley 8000 shaking table. Available as single( 8000SD) or double deck unit( 8000DD) this model is driven by a robust Holman head motion, with stroke adjustment of between 8 mm and 16 mm( nominal). Head motion is self-lubricating requiring minimal maintenance. The deck is supported on forty-two yellow polymer carriers and vibrated diagonally along the entire length. The deck itself is manufactured from high quality timber, marine grade plywood and covered with 5 mm smooth rubber for maximum durability.
Another recent Holman Wilfley customer is Saloro, which operates one of the few tungsten mines outside of China- Barruecopardo in Spain. It uses Holman Wilfley tables for processing scheelite ore. IM
