Sandvik is connecting its recently upgraded 800i series cone crushers with the latest Automation System , ACS-c 5 as it looks to continue a design philosophy based on evolution of parts , materials and technologies to improve the reliability , availability and productivity customers rely on .

Sandvik 800i crushers are designed from the ground up to maximise tonnage of the desired end product . By selecting the right chamber configuration and setting the crusher program for the automation system , operators can simply start crushing , the company says .

Upgraded 800i crushers target installed inefficiency in , for example , flowsheets including three-stage crushing and conventional grinding , assisting SAG / AG circuits with pebble crushing , and optimising PSD for lump ores and heap leach applications . The 800i crushers are also suitable in HPGR circuits . They crush more and deliver finer particle sizes

The 800i crushers are ready to be connected to the SAM by Sandvik cloud-based digital assistant , the company ’ s evolving data capture and service supporting operational excellence in crushing and screening plants .

MillSlicer uses vibration sensors mounted on the mill shell to capture data including angular impact intensity , maximum impact angle and centroid of impacts . It combines with Molycop ’ s VIP Data Platform , a cloud-based software solution that empowers mining companies with real-time visualisation and data analytics .
Vibration analyses were used by Molycop customer Resolute Mining at its gold mine in Senegal to measure impacts on the SAG mill shell and reduce mill liner damage and wear . With MillSlicer VIP installed , as well as associated control and optimisation services , Resolute was able to reduce its planned shutdowns by 25 % by carrying out three shutdowns in a year instead of the usual four , Molycop says .
The mine could delay replacing its mill liners and the need to engage a crew to perform a planned shutdown , all while improving throughput .
With the cost of shutting down a mill estimated at approximately A $ 100,000 ($ 65,299 ) an hour , and a typical shutdown lasting two or more days , installation of MillSlicer VIP resulted in significant payback for Resolute Mining .
At a leading Australian nickel mine , implementation of MillROC led to a new control philosophy around the grinding circuit , which allowed for stabilisation of key operating
variables , Molycop says . The project resulted in significant improvements in circuit efficiency , a reduction in energy requirements and increases in throughput .
There are more than 50 other examples of Molycop customers improving the performance and uptime of their mills by applying Molycop digital tools to their comminution circuits , with observed improvements in throughput , grinding media consumption and mill power utilisation .
