SCREENING
Spann said these specific examples are testimony to JOEST Australia ’ s philosophy of customer collaboration to deliver superior outcomes for the operational efficiency of its customers ’ key screening assets . “ This approach has underpinned JOEST Australia ’ s success in the brownfield ’ s replacement market , where increased demands for operational reliability and greater screening efficiency have set them apart as an innovative and more importantly , collaborative solution provider . With recent success in ‘ critical minerals ’ processing in some new greenfields projects , JOEST Australia is gaining a reputation as a premier bespoke screen designer , with excellent engineering capability supported by specialist heavy mining process experience . This is defining JOEST Australia as a niche , independent product company – experienced , customer-focussed and ambitious to grow .”
Haver & Boecker ’ s XL-Class achieving new heights
Haver & Boecker Niagara , having built the reputation of its ultra-large Niagara XL-Class vibrating screens in the Canadian oil sands , is now seeing increasing take-up for the model in both copper and iron ore , as plant throughputs increase . The Niagara XL-Class vibrating screen , which combines advanced exciter drive technology with a wide body to offer producers high-capacity screening action at up to 15,000 t / h , remains the largest exciter-driven machine in the industry . Each XL-Class machine is customdesigned to its specific application using Finite Element Analysis ( FEA ) to predict the structural behaviour of a vibrating screen .
The company recently announced a new copper mining project in Peru . The customer is using four custom-designed , 14- by 28-ft ( 4,270 by 8,540 mm ), Niagara XL-Class banana vibrating screens to process copper ore . The exciter-driven machines include a High-Pressure Grinding Roll ( HPGR ) discharge system to effectively process up to 1,600 t / h at cut sizes of 6.35 mm . Each machine is equipped with signature Niagara Exciters and Tyler Engineered Media to ensure optimum screening efficiency and equipment reliability . The dynamic condition of our XL-Class screening technology can be adjusted to reach the operator ’ s unique application requirements , including acceleration , amplitude and speed . Anglo American ' s Quellaveco copper mine in Peru also has Haver & Boecker XL-Class screens in both of its two main lines after the SAG mills .
In Chile , six XL-Class screens are running in the quaternary screening stage for a major iron ore mining customer in Chile while Haver & Boecker Niagara has also engineered a new , elliptical motion Niagara XL-Class vibrating screen for a Brazilian iron ore customer . The new technology is ideal for screening applications challenged
with high-moisture content and can easily handle capacities up to 3,500 t / h while minimising water usage . The XL-Class runs in an elliptical motion of up to 6g in a high-moisture iron ore screening application to ensure stratification in all phases of screening . The new vibrating screen also features a robust elliptical exciter drive that offers a bearing life up to 75,000 h . Iron ore contains up to 15 % moisture , and often behaves like a pasty , clay-like material , prone to blinding on a screen deck . The elliptical movement motion and increased acceleration of the XL-Class ensures that the material is stratifying without blinding or contamination . New orders in Brazil include an iron ore producer purchasing six modular Niagara XL-Class banana vibrating screens . The 12 by 32 ft , exciter-driven vibrating screens were specifically designed to process 900 t / h of natural moisture content with a goal of classifying material 100 % below 19 mm .
In non-metallics , another XL-Class success for Haver & Boecker Niagara is supplying a major fertiliser customer with eight innovative vibrating screens for ROM phosphate rock classifying . “ Relying on our many years of experience in this filed we developed together with the customer and the partner engineering company this new phosphate mining solution , in use by one of the phosphate industry ’ s top players , allowing more than 1,400 t / h of phosphate classifying . The final screening units - eight Niagara XL-Class R-MD 2100 × 7500-C - produce more than 52 t / h by 0-10 mm and cut 1 mm for each vibrating screen .” Another customer in Brazil in Goias State trusted the technology and installed eight vibrating screens of model XL-CLASS ME 3050 x 6100 in a REE-processing plant . The screens were delivered with water spraying system , rubber cover to avoid spillage and slurry feed chute . The cut size is 1 mm and the throughput 210 t / h each screen .
