Inside the new JOEST Australia workshop in Perth , Western Australia

The collaboration of JOEST Australia personnel with the customer ’ s EPC managers enabled the condition monitoring for the equipment package to be integrated into the plant process control .
JOEST Australia has also embarked on a continuous improvement project with a major iron ore miner in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia , who operate with a large fleet of JOEST Australia screens . The mine operators are focused on increasing the operational lifetime of their equipment between maintenance shutdown intervals . Reliable exciter life has been determined as a critical factor for the uptime cycle in their operations . Innovations introduced as part of JOEST Australia ’ s improvement project have delivered a 50 % increase in service life as a first stage outcome , with future innovation improvements planned for site acceptance testing before the end of 2022 . The projected outcome of these advancements is a further step change doubling the operating life of the exciters compared to the original units .
In a further reflection of JOEST Australia ’ s commitment to continuous improvement , the company has now established a solid reputation in bulk mining / scalping applications as a premier grizzly screen manufacturer . Spann comments : “ Once again , the collaborative approach utilised by JOEST Australia personnel to address operational issues has evolved an already successful extra heavy duty JOEST design to successfully screen material , with an increased feed rate from 4,000 t / h to the average of 5,500 t / h , and surge loads up to 6,000 t / h . In addition to enhancing the machine design to process an additional 30 % feed , JOEST Australia personnel have engineered a cassette arrangement that has delivered a 57 % improvement in wear life , along with efficiency improvements required to handle the increased tonnages .”
