NARROW-VEIN & LOW-PROFILE MINING
When the support is no longer required , the operator reduces the pressure of the fluid by using quick release valves and withdraws the prop from the site . The working unit is also equipped with an optional bolt cutter to cut the bolt and allow the roof to collapse without support .
In addition to the rigs and auxiliary machines , Mine Master has the RS 2.0 SB low-profile scaling / rock breaker twin boom rig . This electric / diesel powered unit is equipped with a heavy-duty rock breaker and inspection service basket , as well as adjustable grader blade feature for clearing and levelling roadways .
The RS 2.0 SB is supplied as standard with remote control features for tramming , adjusting either of the extendable boom ’ s reach and angles , as well as breaker tilt and percussion functions . This practical and safe solution to managing ground control challenges enables protective FOPS-compliant inspection from elevated basket positioning , with resultant operator-controlled scaling / rock breaking functionality from a safe distance thereafter , GHH says . Features also include ‘ laser curtain ’ interlocks , offering front line proximity safety for operators and support crews alike .
Through Peru-based partner Overprime , GHH Group also has 1 t and 2 t loaders , as well as a 6 t truck . This is on top of the GHH LF-3 narrow-vein loader , which features a high lift option and is available in US Tier 2 and US Tier 3 compliant air cooled and water-cooled engine packages suitable for working at depth as well as high altitude . The largest narrow-vein loader in the GHH offering is the 7 t LF-7 loader , which is payload matched with the 20 t MK-A20 dump truck .
For narrow vein operations , Mine Master offers the Face Master 2.1 , which comes with an operating width of 1.35 m and the ability to conduct face drilling and long-hole drilling . A quick reset of the feeder position and additional cylinder allow for accurate drilling of the vein
The latest narrow-vein loaders to be added to Sandvik ' s Toro family are the Toro LH208L ( left ) and the Toro LH209L ( right )
deposit in both applications , the company says .
All the low-profile and narrow-vein products come with a Level 9-compliant collision avoidance system interface , as well as optional speed brake interlock for improved safety in operations , alongside the GHH inSiTE digital analytics offering .
Toro continues growth
Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions has continued to add low-profile units to its Toro™ family : a series of loaders and trucks in all size classes and for all market areas that has a more than 50-year history .
The latest narrow-vein loaders to be added to the mix are the Toro LH208L and the Toro LH209L .
The Toro LH208L is tailored to operate efficiently in conditions where working heights are extremely limited , with an equipment height of just 1.6 m but high payload capacity of 7.7 t . This has meant its main market is southern Africa .
The loader ’ s frame is reinforced to resist ground and roof impacts , with the welded steel box structures used in the frame and boom providing strong resistance to shock loads .
The machine is fitted with a ROPS-and FOPScertified canopy , protecting the operator in the event of roll-over or falling objects . The canopy door includes a door lock and latch mechanism , with an interlock switch that automatically applies the brakes and inactivates boom , bucket and steering when the door is opened . Adjustable high-power LED lights as standard enable better operator visibility , further enhanced by a standard monitoring camera system that includes front and rear cameras , the company says . To improve overall underground safety underground , a proximity detection
system interface option is also available .
The Toro LH208L also offers options specifically designed to improve productivity , such as the Sandvik integrated weighing system ( IWS ) and traction control , both of which are already available on several Sandvik loaders . The IWS measures the payload when lifting the boom , as well as the number of buckets filled during a shift , and records the results to My Sandvik Digital Services Knowledge Box™ .
Payload monitoring assists in maximising productivity by optimising loads , reducing overloading and helping to identify training needs , while the traction control system reduces wheel slippage when penetrating the muck pile and filling the bucket , extending tyre lifetime and decreasing rubber waste .
The loader is equipped with a Deutz 140 kW EU Stage II engine , with catalytic purifier and muffler . The optional diesel particulate filter ( DPF ) is made of sintered metal and is field serviceable , cleaned using a high-pressure washer or steam cleaner . Using sintered metal as the DPF material also results in a long service interval , according to Sandvik . To reduce emissions and fossil fuel consumption , the engine can also use paraffinic fuel , thereby meeting BS EN 15940 requirements .
The Sandvik 10-t-payload LH209L loader , meanwhile , is also designed to deliver in extremely demanding applications with limited heights .
The Toro LH209L ’ s performance and serviceability have been further improved from the machine ’ s previous iteration with , among other upgrades , a redesign and reinforcement of the machine rear , enabling it to better withstand ground and roof impacts common in low-profile operations , Sandvik says .
The machine is powered by 185-kW , 8-litre engines from Volvo Penta , coming in both EU Stage V and EU Stage IIIA-compliant variants .
To reduce particle emissions , both engines are available with a DPF . The Stage V engine comes
