possibility to support actively green goals and fulfill ecological requirements , which ultimately supports the future business .”
Bogatyr ’ s new IPCC-system is currently under construction . Depending on the global health situation it will soon , but latest in 2022 , go into operation says Hesse . “ Bogatyr is setting with this climate-friendly IPCC-system one more time a significant bench-mark and an exemplary example for a sustainable green-solution in CIS and beyond .”
Hesse told IM it is the largest IPCC system to date in the CIS countries , not only due to capacity , but also due to length and quantity of end-of-line equipment . The bulk online analysis plays a big part in this project - the ash content measurement online system was designed particularly for the IPCC and logistic requirements . He says the most difficult part has been the exact position in the system .
He adds on the environmental aspect : “ The idea of IPCC in the Bogatyr mine is today even more important compared to 2014 in order to serve green-technology and decarbonisation needs . As the entire IPCC system , including a two-wings stockyard system and the double train loading station is fully electrical driven , it offers a significant reduction of CO 2 and dust emissions . When I discussed and negotiated this project with Bogatyr , it was clear to all parties , that this project would set a status quo and be a benchmark for green technology in the entire CIS .”
Finally on what made thyssenkrupp the ideal choice for this project : “ There are many important factors why we were chosen . For the client it was an advantage to get everything from a so called single-source supplier . On the other hand it has been of huge advantage having our level of experience , plus our number and quality of references , as well as our know-how in open pit mining and the mine planning . And finally , we understood that quick answers on questions would result in a good relationship .”
MMD continues to innovate from IPSC to bulk sorting
MMD has continued to implement successful IPSC ( In-Pit Sizing & Conveying ) installations , with projects in China , South Africa , Thailand and Chile . Most recently , it introduced three bulk ore sorting pilot systems , which use sensors in the pit to separate ore from waste whilst uplifting ore grades through fines recovery . We designed and manufactured the turnkey mineral processing package , including grizzly , feeder , sizer , ore diverter and conveyor modules to be used in conjunction with an ore scanning system .
These relocatable installations have been custom designed for each project and material ; from reception hoppers that accept direct loading by front-end loaders or trucks , to intermediate conveyors , which accommodate a variety of on-board sensors and smart technologies . Processing rates are also varied at each site with the maximum designed to process up to 1,000 t / h , however solutions are fully scalable up to several thousand tonnes per hour . MMD told IM : “ Across the world in Thailand , we have continued our long relationship with the Mae Moh Mine in Lampang , where the project is now into Phase 9 . During Phases 8 and 9 , the new Semi-Mobile Sizer Stations have comprised four modules , which are frequently relocated a few kilometres closer to the working face to facilitate short haulage by truck . The relocation is achieved by MMD Atlas transporter crawlers , each with a carrying capacity of 500 t , enabling them to be used to support and carry other heavy mining machinery , such as conveyor head and tail modules and decouple spreaders during conveyor advances .”
These recently installed Sizer Stations were designed using software modelling , computeraided analysis and material flow simulation , and incorporate the latest improvements in Sizer design . This tailored approach has resulted in high reliability and optimal material processing efficiency , allowing for the sizing of extremely large material – in some cases , the run of mine material reaches sizes in excess of 3 m long . However , on an everyday basis the units process
