While not all users will be comfortable using machine-learning algorithms such as Maptek ’ s DomainMCF from the off , the Vulcan GeologyCore workflow eases into this transition , guiding users through the geological modelling process and providing control over which modelling algorithm is selected , Jackson explained .
“ A user may choose to run the model with implicit modelling , a familiar technique , with the option to switch the modelling method to DomainMCF at any time without changing their workflow ,” he said .
Integrating the value chain
Algorithms also have a role to play in RPMGlobal ’ s latest update to its advanced mine scheduling software , XECUTE .
Recognising a need to bridge the gap between operational planning and customer demand at bulk mining operations , the company worked closely with a major Pilbara iron ore producer to come up with its Demand Chain Optimiser ( DCO ) module .
