SOUTH AFRICAN SUPPLIERS n An improved dust collection system to increase visibility that will improve health risks associated with dust inhalation and worker safety around the machine ; n An encapsulated drill feed system that increases the safety of operators and workers by providing less exposure to moving components ; n Real-time machine monitoring and level 9 PDS and vehicle detection solutions to ensure workplace safety and user-friendly control interfaces ; n Simple modular hydraulic components that reduce the mean time to repair and increases the serviceability of the machine ; n State-of-the-art drilling operations feedback and control systems that can increase productivity and efficiency during operation ; n An operation-specific dual engine power supply that reduces overall fuel consumption and decreases the emissions during normal operations ; and n Industry-leading advanced filtration systems to reduce the risk of contaminants and ensure an extended lifespan of critical components . Rham says the mobile and compact machine can drill holes ranging from 140-250 mm in diameter and up to 45 m deep , trumping the hole size limitations of competing drill rigs .
The BHDR 45 features a redesigned gearless hydraulic drilling and feed system that delivers a pull-down force of more than 23,000 kg and 8,900 Nm of torque at low pressure requirements , providing the machine with the power needed to conduct any drilling operation , according to the company .
GHHMM expands narrow-vein offering
Based in Boksburg , South Africa , GHH Mining Machines ( GHHMM ) has become renowned for designing and manufacturing trackless mobile machines for both low-profile and narrow-vein mining environments .
The company , part of Germany-based GHH Group , has recently expanded its narrow-vein product offering , adding a 7-t loader to its proven 3 t LF-3 .
The LF-3 is currently working on mine sites across the globe . Recently , a fleet of them hit the soil at one of the oldest documented mines in Zimbabwe , joining a large GHH fleet of narrowvein and low-profile loaders already in the country .
The new LF-7 loader , which will be the largest narrow-vein loader in the GHH family when it arrives in early 2021 , is designed with reliability and productivity in mind . It has an optional proximity detection system and RRC interface , and is automation-ready , GHH says . Tier 3 , Tier 4 Final and Stage V engine class options are available , catering to relevant regulations across the globe .
The LF-7 has a best-in-class installed power of 164 kW , resulting in best-in-class loading performance , as well as world-class operator safety , ergonomics and comfort , according to GHH . The unit is ROPs / FOPs certified , comes with air conditioning , hydraulic-free closed cabin and an extremely robust frame and system

design resulting in low operating costs , according to the company . The separate brake cooling circuit supports long lasting components , while there are various customised buckets available for different applications available and Z-kinematics optimised for the best truck loading performance . The LF-7 also has the best tipping height in its class , GHH says .
Just one of the maintenance-related perks of the LF-7 loader is the brake wear indicators , which identify brake wear and allow planned maintenance to be carried out ahead of time , preventing potential brake failure related incidents .
There is also an automatic payload weighing system which , from a production point of view , provides visibility into tonnes moved per shift . This system also provides a training element for operators , allowing them to optimise their loading techniques for the highest fill factor possible .
The LF-7 also has machine diagnostics , data logging and data analytics capabilities through the GHH inSiTE system , powered by
