vibration and reduced noise levels , as well as ride control and great visibility . The LF-7 is optionally fitted with GHH inSiTE , GHH ’ s digital analytics solution , where all relevant vehicle data can be accessed and remotely evaluated . It is proximity detection interface-ready , while bucket weighing and tyre pressure monitoring systems are optional .
GHH also has an offering for the low-profile mining market , with a fleet of loaders , rigs and utility vehicles .
On its MINExpo stand , GHH will be highlighting the latest launches of a batteryelectric rig ( the FM1.7LE ) and bolter ( the RM1.8KE ) currently running at one of KGHM ’ s copper mines in Poland , as well as the SLP-8 low profile loader currently running in southern Africa . Supported by its partner company , UVB , GHH has a huge range of utility vehicles supporting these primary machines .
The modular design SLP-8 boasts 178 kW of power , the largest carrying capacity in its class , excellent ground clearance to navigate undulating foot walls , as well as unsurpassed visibility and ergonomic comfort in the operator ’ s compartment , GHH said .
The battery-electric drill and bolting rigs were developed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions , improve safety and reduce maintenance requirements .
The RM1.8KE can work in galleries from 3 m
up to 5.8 m in height and is equipped with a 1.8 m-high mechanised bolting mast for nine bolts . The 120 kWh sodium-nickel battery installed on board can be recharged using the existing mine power network .
The FM 1.7LE is designed to drill blast holes between 41-76 mm in diameter and net length of 3.2 m in heights above 1.7 m . Even with the battery charger on board , it is still the lowest height machine in its class , with a tramming height of 1.65 m . It is also able to operate on slopes of up to 15 °.
More precise and effective drilling can be conducted with optional easy drilling monitoring system , or a more advanced Feeder Guiding System ( FGS ). Both systems are suitable for drilling in room and pillar mining applications .
JH Fletcher & Co plans to display a variety of equipment , including two machines from its roof bolter product line , at this year ’ s MINExpo .
The Fletcher Model N3016-AD is a dieselpowered carousel roof bolter designed for bolting in narrow headings as small as 10 ft x 10 ft ( 3 m x 3 m ). With safety front and centre , all drilling and bolting operations are performed from the operator ’ s deck .
The Fletcher Model N3112-B / E is a “ man-up ”
MINExpo 2021 attendees will be able to interact with the FletchTech virtual interactive mining simulator on its booth , with a J352 ( dual boom drill jumbo , pictured ) one of the machines featured
roof bolter designed for a maximum operating height of 13 ft ( 4 m ). The machine is equipped with a lithiumion battery for fully functional battery-electric operation . It is designed with a battery management system to help ensure cells stay within a safe operating envelope under all test conditions . This system also includes cell-to-cell propagation prevention . The batteries are enclosed in a flame arrestor to reduce external vented heat in the unlikely event of cell thermal runaway . This model is designed with on-board charging and boasts quieter operation , the company said .
In addition to roof bolting , those visiting the Fletcher booth will see its J352-LS dual boom drill jumbo on display . This comes equipped with
