UNDERGROUND DRILLING Key benefits of the Sandvik DU412i   n Versatility with all ITH applications standardised into one feed – feed and carousel designed with component commonality, optimised for automation n High capacity onboard booster offering (up to 34 m³/min @ 28 bar) – electronic compressor inlet control allows better modulation of air volume and effective use of different hammer sizes  n Improved boom reach, fast handling and stability in drilling – new ZR35 telescopic boom with wide swing and tilt angles, fast and accurate in use n Improved drilling performance in ITH longhole drilling – iSOLO drilling control system with fast and accurate feed control the ZR35 telescopic boom “is the best foundation for accurate longhole drilling. It is a new boom, in which current and proven top hammer drilling concepts have been utilized. The ZR35 boom has wide swing and tilt angles and can be utilized in most mass mining methods in production drilling and service support; the increased offset allows drilling of parallel vertical holes up to 3,000 mm. The boom is fully instrumented and equipped with electronic parallelism, assisting the operator in moving the drilling module between holes.” The Sandvik DU412i is offered with a range of high capacity onboard boosters from 19 to 34 m³/min, allowing the increase of operating pressure of 3” to 6” hammers’ from 24 to 28 bar. Therefore, up to 20% higher penetration rates and 10% higher drilling capacity can be achieved. The onboard booster range also supports 8” hammers operated at 24 bar in single hole drilling, or the V-30 reaming head operated at 24 bar in slot raising, from 6 bar air inlet. The electronic compressor inlet control allows better modulation of the air volume, making it possible to use small hammers with bigger boosters and maintaining the designated hammer pressure until the end of the service life.   LKAB Wassara continues work on coil tubing rig LKAB Wassara AB is a subsidiary of LKAB with operations in Huddinge and Malmberget. The company is well known to IM as developing water-powered drilling systems. When blast holes are straight the length are limited by the distance between them in the outer end of the fan. When the distance becomes to large the ore fragmentation after a blast becomes suboptimal. If the blast holes instead are made parallel the length can be increased without increasing the distance between them. In this way every hole fan can result in more ore. To be able to create parallel blast holes, LKAB, in cooperation with LKAB Wassara, is creating a new type of rig which can control the drilling in real time. The drill system is not made up of straight rods like on a traditional rig but of a steel pipe on a coil that is winded up as the drill penetrates the rock. A rock drill rig under operation creates large amounts of data from different sensors and control systems. Digitalisation specialist HTM System Solutions is helping LKAB Wassara to build a system which collects and analyses information valuable for both rig development and ore production purposes. In the short term the collected data will mainly be used for the rig development but in the longer run the intention is to utilise the data in the iron ore production process. HTM says it has designed and implemented a system which has the capacity to reliably collect data from several rigs in full operation. “Wassara's engineers can now in real time supervise what is happenings on the rig and see how it behaves during drilling. Analysis can also be performed on historical data.” “Thanks for your interest in the project. We will come with a media update when we have made some more progress with the coil tubing rig for parallel hole drilling. Tim Peco, Development Engineer at LKAB Wassara, told IM that final development work still continues on the coil tubing rig for parallel ROCKSPOT bѴѴbm]|_;]-rbm1ubঞ1-Ѵlomb|oubm] !o1h"ro| bv-mbmmoˆ-ঞˆ;u-7-u v‹v|;l-0Ѵ;|oѴo1-|;ķ|u-1h-m7 -Ѵ;u|omuo1h=-ѴѴvbmu;-Ѵঞl; RockSpot never sleeps and monitors night and day. )b|_ - Ѵom]Ŋu†mmbm] ;m;u]‹ voѴ†ঞomķ †v;uv 1-m depend on 24/7 coverage @;1ঞˆ; uo1h=-ѴѴ _-Œ-u7 lbঞ]-ঞom v|u-|;]b;v possible to protect mine workers and assets IDS GeoRadar Srl Part of Hexagon (b-†]†v|o!b]_bķƐŊƑŊƔѵƐƑƐvr;7-Ѵ;‚oķbv-ķ|-Ѵ‹ $;ѴĹƳƒƖƏƔƏѶƖƒƓƐƏƏ v-Ѵ;vĺlbmbm]Šb7v];ou-7-uĺ1ol ‰‰‰ĺb7v];ou-7-uĺ1ol
