COVER: BELAZ
NOVEMB
ER 201
The cover image this month shows a BELAZ water sprinkler of model 76135, here operating at one
of OCP's phosphate mining sites in Morocco, where it was supplied by local BELAZ dealer
Soberma. The model has a tank capacity of 119 m 3 and is powered by an AC-DC electric drive and
Cummins KTA 38-C engine. OCP has noted the comfort of the air-conditioned cabin and the
operator ergonomics. The model is also very robust and uses a technology for watering that is
much more advanced than that offered by competitors. It runs on a centrifugal pump with
hydrostatic drive, having both a side spraying system with two fan shaped sprayers and four
rear fan shaped sprayers, all controlled from the cab with actuation valves, supplying a
sprinkling zone width of 24.5 m. The truck also has a hydraulic water gun at the front and
drums at the rear with hoses for firefighting, as well as a foam generator set
