UTILITY VEHICLES sprayers, Utimec concrete transporters, Charmec explosive chargers, Himec / Utilift lifting and installation units, and Utimec, Variomec and Multimec material, personnel logistics and service vehicles.“ Tier 4 Final engines provide a much cleaner drive and better fuel economy than older generation engines. As emissions from one Tier 3 machine equal those of 10 Tier 4 Final machines, the reduction in diesel engine emissions is 90 % compared to Tier 3 technology. Tier 4 Final engines also consume 8 % less fuel than Tier 3 engines.”
All M-Series( 10 t) and L-Series( 16 t) equipment with a front cab are available with Normet’ s hydraulic suspension system. This provides a comfortable drive, reduces driving vibration by 65-90 % and minimises operator fatigue. Together with the new driving features and automatic gear changer, the Tier 4F units offer remarkably better driving ergonomics than earlier generation machines. The latest addition to Normet’ s concrete transportation equipment fleet is the Utimec LF 700 Agitator which is designed for underground mines and tunnels where tramming height is 3.5 m or more. It has a practical concrete capacity of 7 m 3. It can be provided with Tier 4 Final engine technology for mining and tunnelling customers.“ Together with the new features like exhaust brake and lock-up converter in the transmission, the Tier 4F units offer remarkable driving ergonomics and safety for driving. Integrated hydraulic retarder( option) to power line makes safe and effective braking possible even on steep declines. The impressive braking force is 180 kW with an automatic constant speed control feature during decline driving.”
For bulk explosives charging Normet has a wide range of vehicles: Charmecs, with a front cabin or centre cabin configuration in all its equipment classes: S- series( 6 t), M-series( 10 t) and L-series( 16 t). Normet Charmecs can be equipped with an ANFO charging system with different ANFO-vessel sizes or with emulsion
ABSOLUTE charging systems from various explosives manufacturers.
Normet also has the dedicated Utimec product range for men and material transport underground. The Utimec LF 130 Material has a carrying capacity of 16 t and a 7.7 m 2 flat bed for the carrying of diverse materials. It can also equipped with a low profile crane. The crane has 5.7 t maximum lifting capacity and 7.6 m maximum horizontal reach. Its little brother, the Utimec MF 100 Material has 10 tonnes carrying capacity and a 5.2 m 2 flat bed. Also the Utimec MF 100 Material can be fitted with a smaller crane.
Normet then has the SF- and MF- series Utimec fuel transporters with 3,500 litre fuel tanks and with pumps for tank filling and refuelling of production equipment underground.

Fuel are utility vehicles designed for daily maintenance of underground machines. Different size tanks of 2,000 litres, 1,000 litres and 500 litres can be used to transport fuel, oils and grease. The greasing system, hose reel and pump provide an easy and effective way to refill and lubricate units on site without having to bring the machines to the workshop.
Normet’ s Utimec MF 350 Water and Utimec SF 350 Water are designed for road watering, dust suppression and fire extinguishing works. It can carry up to 3,500 litres of water.
The Utimec SF 162 Per and Utimec MF 164 Per are designed for personnel transportation in small or medium size tunnel cross sections. It has a personnel compartment with seats for 16 persons. The personnel compartment is designed
MATERIAL FLOW for safe and easy entry and exit. Door opening is wide and handrails and non-slip steps are correctly positioned.
The vehicle has an optional front and rear axle suspension system that improves driving safety and comfort and reduces fatigue. The suspension system reduces vibration from wheels to the front and rear cabins and improves handling of the vehicle. The suspension system gives efficiency and speed to vehicle usage, with safety and comfort for the passengers and the driver.
Normet’ s famous Multimec slide-on slide-off cassette system provides an innovative system for material transport in mines: a multipurpose system that allows the operator to perform several jobs with only one vehicle. It consists of a Multimec carrier; either Multimec MF 100( 10 t carrying capacity) or Multimec MF 060( 6 t carrying capacity) and a series of cassettes, each for a different purpose, that fit on the common carrier. The rugged load handling device means the carrier can switch cassettes in less than one minute.
Normet’ s Scamec 2000 scaler family comes in three inter-changeable boom versions to provide optimum boom reach and coverage to fit the actual dimensions of the underground space. This reduces the need for repositioning, thereby minimising non-productive time.“ Our Scamec range can be equipped with a hydraulic impact hammer for scaling in hard rock, or with a pick unit for primary scaling in soft and stratified rock and for secondary scaling in all underground excavations.”
Finally, the Utilift scissor lifts( Utilift SF 330 and Utilift MF 540) are designed for lifting and installation work in mining and low-profile tunnelling. Utilift vehicles are suitable for roof reinforcement works, explosive charging and installation of cables, pipes and ventilation equipment. Typical standard options include a side-shift platform, platform tilt, crane, pipe installing equipment, air compressors, an electrically-driven power pack for platform hydraulics, ANFO charging kits and helper platforms. The driving ergonomics of the vehicle can be enhanced with an optional fully enclosed, high-comfort operator’ s cabin. IM
