The new L-MUVA“ has unparalleled manoeuvrability with 4 t plus load capacity, and is able to turn in one movement in a 4 m wide space. It is extremely stable with a low centre of gravity as well as having a low ground pressure effect. Its skid-steer operation achieves a level of manoeuvrability unmatched by conventional or articulated utility vehicles.”
The L-MUVA is capable of turning 360 ° within a 4.5 m wide roadway making it suitable for a variety of applications where transit space limitations are critical, such as mining. Cited characteristics of the L-MUVA are high availability, and low maintenance and operating cost with minimal skilled labour
intervention. The L-MUVA has been constructed so that it can be reconfigured to many tasks through a day or shift. This is enabled by its mentioned 4 t plus capacity but also using the fitted quick locking attachment. The basic package is a 4.5 m high scissor-lift and an interchangeable, nominal 2 m x 2 m steel tray.

Adit says it is able to reconfigure modules designed for each mines’ purpose or special duties. Common duties in mining are to transport explosives, ground support elements, fuel or other mine consumables; or as a scissor lift for geological investigation, surveying, explosive charging, mine inspections, or service installations. As a scissor lift it is equipped with vehicle controls and / or levelling facility, with the option of an extended scissor lift of 6.5 m.
It can also be employed as a generator and pump carrier / transport; water tank / foam generator / fire-fighting monitor; or for fitter plant maintenance and servicing / welding. Other special duties for mining include concrete agitator; mine refuge placing and recovery by pick-up or towing; drill carrier or crane.
It is equipped with non-pneumatic tyres and is capable of pulling 40 t of rolling weight. It has no CV joints and no universals with braking primarily by hydrostatic control with supporting wet disc brakes for emergencies and parking. The 100 mm diameter wheel trunnions and bushes provide strength and long service life dependability. It also has high availability, low maintenance and operating cost with minimal skilled labour intervention required, according to Adit.
