More innovation from Minemax
The recent release of Minemax Planner 4.2 for high-level strategic mine planning and pit optimisation brings two key functionality improvements – calculated fields and rotated models – allowing users to directly import their block model without any pre-processing. Working directly with the block model means the user can develop pit optimisation strategies with accurate results faster than ever before. Butler says:“ It’ s very easy to import block models into Minemax Planner and use expressions to automatically calculate additional fields such as mining cost and recovery.”
In response to customer and industry feedback, Minemax Planner 4.2 also supports importing rotated models, which eliminates the need to manipulate the rotated model before users bring data into the software. Minemax Planner does all the work in the background, finds the ultimate pit, pit shells, pushbacks and schedule, and exports all results with the original rotation bearing.“ These new improvements, together with the previously added flexible bearing-based slopes and Planner’ s easy-to-use guided workflows, make Planner a complete solution with everything a mine planner needs for pit optimisation.”
Minemax will soon introduce its latest major industry innovation- Minemax Scheduler 6.3 with Leach Modelling for integrated strategic mine planning and scheduling. Armed with Minemax Scheduler 6.3, mine planners will be able to use explicit time-delayed recoveries to accurately model leach lag during the schedule optimisation. " This means they will have the guarantee that their schedule achieves the best NPV and their reporting is accurate. They will get what they have been waiting for – the truly optimal schedule."
Maptek looks forward to busy 2017
During 2016, Maptek released Vulcan 10 mine design software with the Maptek Workbench as well as new tools in Evolution scheduling and BlastLogic drill & blast management. Peter Johnson told IM:“ Together with new functionality in our survey, monitoring and design conformance systems, Maptek has set the scene
