Stronger but lighter truck bodies

The principal product, the Duratray Suspended Dump Body( SDB), is a unique lightweight tray that consists of a flexible rubber wearmat supported by high capacity synthetic suspension ropes and a steel frame which is resistant to abrasion. This design has demonstrated a wide range of benefits catered to specific mine applications including increasing payload, combatting carry-back, lowering maintenance requirements, and reducing loading noise.
Over the last ten years a vast number of innovative engineering improvements have been undertaken on the Duratray SDBs.“ These consist of developments to suit most standard mining conditions including heavy or abrasive rock and sticky material, as well as to increase capacity to suit emerging ultraclass trucks of up to 360 t capacity. The latest Duratray XP-series is a fit-for-purpose steel tray that could be adjusted to a variety of configurations. Manufactured from abrasionresistant through hardened steel, combined with high tensile structural and chassis elements in Weldox-700, the Duratray XP is a high capacity body created for long service and low to high abrasion conditions. The side wall extension increases the volumetric capacity of existing dump bodies while the rubber use is designed to handle tough impact loads while resisting abrasion. It also helps extend the body system’ s life. Side walls are made from steel plate or hollow alloy bar for the top-rail. Parallel or expanding taper geometry is used for the side walls to provide extra reinforcement and preventing material build-up.
The ducktail retains the load on ramp grades up to 10 % and higher. This design also maintains correct load distribution within the specifications of the truck OEM.
Finally, the steel liner absorbs impact and protects the truck structure from sliding wear, and is designed to be easily and securely fitted to the dump body. IM
