MINING PUMPS custom-designed to handle fluids for many diverse industries, such as mineral processing. The 33 PTA valve incorporates proprietary sleeve technology and a wide body design to maximise valve life. The 33 PTD valve is designed with a proprietary liner for light to medium slurry applications. It incorporates a proprietary liner for smooth operation and low cost of ownership. The OM150 valve provides an economical solution for abrasive and corrosive applications. Central to the design of the valve is the most robust perimeter seal in the industry, which provides reliable bi-directional, bubble-tight shutoff. Finally the ITT PRO Services ® business provides an array of solutions to repair and upgrade rotating equipment, improve pump equipment performance and manage total cost of ownership for its customers. “The ProCast ® Reengineered Replacement Parts service provides customers with timely parts solutions for obsolete/old pumps in critical operations. Utilising global engineering centre capability and regional manufacturing resources, combined with the latest on-demand 3-D printing technology, ProCast re-engineers parts to improve hydraulic performance and equipment life cycle.” The award-winning i-ALERT ® 2 Bluetooth Smart monitor allows customers to identify potential problems before they become costly failures. It tracks vibration, temperature and run- time hours and wirelessly syncs the data with a smartphone or tablet through the i-ALERT2 mobile app. Thompson’s Pump of the Future Thompson Pump began the 2017 CONEXPO with its concept “Pump of the Future.” Typical operating noise from diesel-driven pumps is excessive and undesirable, and in some cases can even cause permanent hearing damage to workers at or near job sites where pumps are being utilised. Enter Thompson Pump’s Active Noise Cancellation system (ANC). It mitigates unwanted sound from diesel-driven pumps through the addition of a secondary sound (anti- sound) that is designed specifically to cancel out the primary one. “When you create a secondary sound wave with the same amplitude that has an inverted phase to the original sound, the waves combine, 52 International Mining | APRIL 2017 form a new wave and effectively cancel each other out,” said Dale Conway, Vice President of Engineering for Thompson Pump. “Better still, the ANC system is completely standalone and automated – and it requires absolutely no user intervention.” Thompson Pump also debuted its new RECON control panel with a live demo showcasing its smart technology, and two brand new Tier 4 Final pump offerings in its Rotary and J-Series lines. Low suction options Grindex had its new Milli pump at CONEXPO, which enables low suction down to only a few millimetres. The Grindex Milli is a low-suction pump built on the well- established and proven drainage pump Micro. The Micro and Milli share all the main components and functions for wear parts. Adding a non-return valve to the hydraulic parts to prevent a backflow, the Milli can pump down to a level as low as a few millimetres. Grindex Milli can solve a major issue with water in mining application areas where the Drawing showing design of the Thompson ‘Pump of the Future’ user needs to empty an area completely. “Milli fills a gap in our product portfolio that our customers have requested,” says Dan Schaffer, General Manager, Grindex US. Grindex Milli enables low suction down to only a few millimetres due to its unique non-return valve. A non-return valve disc moves in a confined space. When the pump is started, the valve opens up and allows the water to pass through until the water is gone, or until you turn off the The Grindex Milli can solve a major issue with water in mining application areas where the user needs to empty an area completely
