MINEXPO PREVIEW II
products, as well as programs designed to
improve belt conveyor productivity and efficiency.
Flexco will be displaying the breadth of its
product offering, demonstrating how everything –
from improved maintenance tools to new belt
conveyor products – work in conjunction with
each other for optimal system performance.
Among the products on display will be the new
Extreme Duty Precleaner, the largest, most
rugged precleaner in the offering. The precleaner
is ideal for use in copper, coal, iron oil, and oil
sands applications and is designed for belts
1,067 to 3,048 mm wide, with pulley diameters of
1,220 mm and up.
The Extreme Duty Precleaner is designed with
a three-piece pole, making it easier to transport
to the head pulley and install, and is available
with 152 mm and 304 mm wide blade segments
for varied material paths.
The recently-introduced PTEZ™ Belt Trainer
(shown here) will also be at the show, allowing
customers to get a hands-on feel for the highperformance tracking idler. Designed with the
‘Pivot and Tilt’ feature without the use of sensor
rolls, the new PTEZ belt trainer may be used in
any application that requires tracking to prevent
damage to the belt or conveyor structure,
including single-direction and reversing belts.
Flexco will also be exhibiting a variety of other
products in the booth, including two new
additions to its line of load zone solutions –
Modular Impact Beds and Urethane Skirting.
Mining software
Hexagon Mining will be previewing new advances
in mining technology. Progress made in the
company’s mine planning software applied to
complex geology and dynamic unfolding at
Freeport-McMoRan’s Tenke Fungurume mine will
also be presented in a white paper.
There will be a first look at new solutions from
the company’s operations, planning, and safety
suites. In operations a new look for mine traffic
control within Mineops will be unveiled, including
an integrated GIS mine map. The flagship highprecision drill solution, Drill HP, will demonstrate
new hardness profiling capabilities for rotary and
hammer drills, plus start-of-hole detection for
compatible drills and market-leading
navigational intelligence.
The latest advances in monitoring solutions
will be on show, including Leica MultiStations. By
incorporating laser scanning into total stations,
Leica MultiStations push surveying and
monitoring to a new realm of possibilities.
Complementing the monitoring component will
As well as seeing examples of Mineral Sizers
and other in-pit equipment, visitors to the MMD
booth will have the opportunity to meet one of
20 regional representatives – some of the most
knowledgeable and experienced minds in the
industry

UAVs are improving both surveying and safety for
mine personnel, plus filling in data gaps from
hard-to-reach places.
Attendees interested in underground surveying
can see Leica high-definition laser scanners

create an air-tight geological model. Also for
preview will be Hexagon Mining’s solution for a
single, qualified terrain model, Live Terrain. Live
Terrain is an innovative real-time web-based
visualisation of mining terrain data.
In safety, the latest advances to FatigueMonitor
plus the market’s first vehicle intervention
system will be on show. Also on display will be a
full suite of monitoring solutions to keep
underground and surface mines continuously
safe and operational. From GPS and Total Station
Prism Systems (TPS) and HDS to Georadar and
UAS, attendees can learn how Hexagon Mining
monitoring technology identifies hazardous
events in time to take preventative measures and
how mine plans are optimised with this critical
information.
Comminution/processing
For more than 35 years, MMD has been at the
forefront of mineral sizing and custom In-Pit
Sizing & Conveying (IPSC) technology. The
company says its “greatest strength has always
been its ability to provide tailored solutions for
customers’ unique needs, with equipment now
handling 75 different minerals in more than 60
countries worldwide.
“Global mining is changing rapidly: rising
costs, environmental pressures and health and
safety have called time on traditional truck and
shovel methods. As the industry becomes
increasingly aware of the need for sustainable
mining, the ecological benefits derived from the
elimination of dust and reduction of harmful
greenhouse emissions caused by truck and shovel
