OPERATION FOCUS- CASCAVEL_proof 23/08/2016 09:30 Page 1 OPERATION FOCUS Brazil’s new high-grade gold mine John Chadwick explains the excitement about Orinoco Gold’s Cascavel mine he Faina Goldfields project is located in the central Brazilian state of Goiás. It lies in a rich but under-explored area which has yielded numerous multi-million ounce deposits such as AngloGold Ashanti’s worldclass 5 Moz+ Serra Grande mine and Yamana Gold’s 6 Moz+ Chapada gold/copper/silver mine. Orinoco Gold believes “the Faina Goldfields project has all the hallmarks of an emerging mining camp, potentially with multiple production centres.” The project consists of a large tenement package of approximately 200 km2 that encompasses the key Cascavel, Sertão and Tinteiro projects, as well as numerous advanced gold exploration targets Espanola, Elisio, Antenna and Xupe. Orinoco owns 70% of Cascavel. Managing Director Mark Papendieck highlights the following: I Potential to become on of the world’s highest grade gold mines I Simple gravity processing = low costs, strong margins I Outstanding growth potential I Potential for multiple production centres. Cascavel is now in production as a small-scale, low cost mining operation. With production underway, Orinoco is now seeking to expand the mining operation to include additional mineralisation from Cascavel as well as from parallel gold lodes within 3 km of Cascavel. Ultimately, mineralisation from the nearby Sertão T 16 International Mining | SEPTEMBER 2016 project (also has a Mining Lease), which is located on the same shear zone as Cascavel approximately 18 km away, will also be targeted. Cashflow from Cascavel is being used to fund exploration and development in the larger area of the Faina Goldfields project. I 8,000 m of diamond drilling and extensive bulk sampling completed by Orinoco I More than 700 m of underground development completed by June this year I Permitted for initial mining at rate of 50,000 t per licence (currently on third such licence) I Conversion to full Mining Lease in 2017 will allow further expansion I 100,000 t/y crushing and gravity circuit constructed on site, within 300 m of underground portal I Crushing and gravity circuit can be easily and cheaply expanded I Free-milling and coarse gold – no leaching required (no cyanide, no grinding) I Small environmental
