MINEXPO PREVIEW II
narrow drifts. The fully suspended chassis offers comfortable transportation on any road conditions. The specialtiy of the new MinCa is the three drive concept for one platform.
This compact mine vehicle is available with a DEUTZ diesel engine generating 85 kW at 2,300 rpm with the proven hydrostatic drive. The hybrid generates 50 kW with an electric drive and has a range of some 12 hours. The third version is a fully electric engine generating 50 kW and has a range of some three to four hours which will be extended in the near future.
Normet will be showcasing its offering for underground mining including equipment, chemicals, and rock reinforcement.
Normet’ s Multimec slide-on / slide-off cassette system is an ideal solution for mines needing a quick change of use for a wide variety of transport requirements. With just one Multimec carrier and the right choice of cassettes, each for a specific purpose, users have a safe and economical underground transport system for personnel, materials, fuel and a variety of other creative applications.
The hydraulic cassette handling system slides the cassette on and off the carrier in less than one minute. The Multimec MF 100 has cassettes for transporting material, crane cassettes, man riding, fuel and lube cassettes and a scissor lift cassette for man lifting and installation work. Other custom cassettes can be provided for a variety of applications. On display at MINExpo will be the new flat cassette which has been designed to facilitate application of the injection technologies TamPur 116 and TamPur 117, and an emulsion explosives cassette.
Normet will also showcase an innovative ground support technology, TamCrete SSL- a rigid and rapid curing structural support liner for underground openings and shafts. It is quick setting, strong and durable, and provides an additional tool for ground support techniques. Apart from the support properties it can also act as a sealant for anti-weathering to stop the oxidation and swelling of ground.
As underground mining is moving deeper, it is faced with more challenging ground conditions and the risk of rock bursts and deformations is increasing. To manage these conditions, innovative and reliable rock reinforcement systems are critical. Normet offers the D-Bolt ® system for active rock reinforcement, eliminating or reducing the effects of rock bursts by absorbing the rock dilation energy through fully mobilising the strength and deformation capacities of the engineered bolt’ s steel. Together with sprayed concrete, grouting and injection technology, the D-Bolt system is used as an important rock reinforcement safety device for mines.
Also on display, Self-Drilling Anchors( SDA) keep boreholes open during installation and can be installed in all directions, with drilling, bolt installation and grouting all done in a single, continuous operation. It is suitable for installation in limited space and height; and in areas of difficult access, and offers a wide range of application.
Normet will show its Multimec system that offers a carrier with a choice of cassettes; here the Multimec MF 400
“ RCT has undertaken work in more than 64 countries and this number is continually growing,” said its Executive Director and CEO Brett White.“ The theme of this year’ s expo reflects RCT’ s capabilities as we are an innovative smart technology company focussed on providing proven solutions to the mining industry.”
Being a respected international supplier of customised mine vehicle control and guidance systems, RCT’ s booth will include the latest in automation technology to maximise mining equipment performance with minimum human interaction; and data management solutions that deliver relevant information to ensure an efficient operation by reducing downtime and increasing the lifespan of equipment – all while safeguarding operators.
Immersive Technologies and RCT have – between them – worked for more than 50 years with the world’ s leading mining companies and contractors to deliver smart solutions that have increased productivity and safety at hundreds of mine sites.
While Immersive solutions are focussed on simulation training, allowing operators to learn and practice their skills for mobile equipment tasks, RCT provides its own skills training programs for its ControlMaster ® Smart
Automation and Control products.
Immersive recently delivered an Advanced underground loader simulator complete with RCT ControlMaster ® CM2000D line-of-sight remote control. The simulator will be used in Kazakhstan to comprehensively train miners in the safe operation of loaders in both manual and remote-control modes.
Immersive and RCT have worked together to combine their technology and expertise, interfacing a remote control to an advanced training simulator. This allows customers to improve overall operator training programs.
RCT’ s brands include AusProTec™, ControlMaster, EarthTrack ®, Muirhead ® and SmarTrack ® – all backed by global support, service and training.
Finland-based Veekmas manufactures special low-profile motor graders for underground hard rock mines in three different sizes. The FG 5 C, FG 7 C and FG 15 C have been especially designed for continuous use in arduous underground
RCT anticipates that its biggest draw will be the ControlMaster ® Guidance simulator, allowing attendees to see RCT’ s technology in action. This product is described as“ a unique remote control training solution designed to improve mine safety and profitability”
