through the stations at regular intervals. Service
and maintenance works can thus be performed
easily at one central point. Being an automatic
transport system, RopeCon will also help to
enhance operational safety and its controls can
be integrated into the central control system of
the mine.
At El Limón-Guajes, the system transports
1,000 t/h of gold ore per into the valley, covering
a distance of about 1.3 km with only one tower.
With a height of 44 m, this tower achieves the
discharge height required for the stockpile. The
span between the loading station and the tower
structure is 1,200 m. The conveying angle comes
up to 32°. Transporting the ore downhill, the El
Limón system generates some 1 MW of green
energy from braking action, which contributes to
a reduction of the overall operating
costs.
MTG Cast Lip system 169 in’
MTG will present the latest
developments in integrated solutions for wearparts for comprehensive bucket protection in all
kinds of mining applications. The company will
showcase its first Cast Lip, designed entirely by
MTG, for hydraulic excavators over 350 t. The 169
in six-position lip, is remarkable for its optimum
design, which favours weight reduction and,
along with the different areas that have been
optimised in all sections, ensures high
penetration while maximising reliability, the
company says. MTG’s Cast Lip system
incorporates new MTG Systems TwinMet and
Promet T protection systems.
TwinMet is an innovative hammerless
tooth-adapter locking system that is made
up of three components: tooth,
and intermediate adapter,
which are nose welded
or fused to the
lip. The
reinforced nose
adds extra robustness and greater resistance in
maximum tension areas. In addition, the
hammerless locking system used in the different
parts provides the user with an efficient, fast and
safe system for replacing parts.
The lip and wing shrouds use the
ProMet T locking system that
stands out for its innovative locking
system that self-tightens bucket
shrouds, reducing the wear on both
parts. Thus, the risk of plastic
deformation of the shroud is also reduced. Its
hammerless locking system provides safety and
reliability in assembly and disassembly operations.

StarMet rope shovel products – a full GET
solution for electric rope shovels, available in
different configurations. This system will be
displayed using a life-size display with the new
hammerless locking system, as well as a wider
range of available teeth: in models RSS and
RSXX. These two new
