With the market conditions, the project advanced slower than expected but will see commissioning in the near future. Caterpillar is now working on a hybrid layout for drifts in production level thus both technologies, conventional LHDs and the CAT Rock Flow System can be applied. Combining both technologies in different stages of block live optimises equipment utilisation and performance of the operation while LHDs will be used in preparation and Rock Flow in full production phase. The Cat equipment operates in conjunction with equipment from SMT Scharf which has supplied transportation technologies based on monorail hanging railways and monorail based multi-purpose “vehicles” to resolve hangups in drawpoint funnels and to crack oversize rocks with a hydraulic rock splitter; and MMD, which has supplied three sizers and one apron feeder to the project. www.mining.cat.com Haver & Boecker refurbish and analysis programs aver & Boecker has added a refurbishment program to its breadth of services and equipment for mining. “The new program gives customers the opportunity to save as much as 40% over buying new while having the assurance that their refurbished machines will operate at peak capacity.” “As an industry leader, we offer our customers an array services and upgrades to improve their equipment and add value to their process, which is why we added refurbishment to our circle of offerings,” said Karen Thompson, President of Haver & Boecker Canada. “Providing an assortment of programs and services increases overall savings for our customers and maximum equipment life.” As part of the program, Haver & Boecker’s technicians inspect and document all critical components and parts on a vibrating screen onsite or at the new Haver Service Centre in St Catharines, Ontario. Each customer then receives a complete report documenting the specialists’ recommendations. Technicians improve screening performance implementing necessary upgrades using both new and re-engineered components. Refurbishments can take as little as one week to complete, depending on the scope of the work. They include everything from installing wear liners H to replacing the shaft or adding an automatic lubrication system to extend bearing life. All refurbishments include a one-year warranty. For more extensive coverage, customers may opt into an asset management program tailored to each operation that includes monthly, quarterly or yearly equipment audits by certified technicians, who work toward increasing equipment lifespan. The company has also announced a three-year leasing option for its Pulse vibration analysis service program, giving mining and aggregate customers insight to their equipment’s performance. The leasing options – basic and professional – fit small and large operations. Both programs include an industrialgrade tablet computer, eight tri-axial sensors, a monthly maintenance package and optional expert analysis reports. Haver & Boecker says it designed the Pulse program specifically to monitor the health of vibrating screens to ensure optimum screening performance and equipment durability. The reporting and historical tracking of the machine’s performance gives customers the information needed to maximise uptime and productivity, both significant contributors to profitability. For an additional cost, the Haver & Boecker engineering team will analyse the results. The team then provides the customer with a report that incl
