twice that amount. In 2017, the
delivery of the second 1,000 t/d
Python plant will complete the
designed throughput.
This project has been designed to
share a common front-end circuit
with a primary crusher and stockpile.
This will be followed by two parallel
trains of Python units to reduce the
ore from 150 mm down to 212 μm. A
gravity concentrate will contain
about 50% of the gold and a
flotation concentrate will recover
another 40% to 45%.
Gold from Russia
Compact Falcon Semi-Batch (SB)
Gravity Concentrators were last year
purchased from Sepro Systems for
installation at the Rudnik Imeni
Matrosova (RIM) gold processing
plant in Russia. These Falcon gravity
concentrators are used for the
additional recovery of gold; the
average precious metals content of the ore is low,
approximately 2 g/t from the Natalka deposit.
RIM is one of the few operations in Russia that
is operating a gravity only circuit. Igor Petrovich,
Vice President RIM: “According to our data, we
expect to increase the second stage of recovery

Installation and
commissioning of additional
Falcon SB Gravity
Concentrators at Natalka
continues in 2016. At present
the site has the highest
number of Falcon gravity
concentrators in Russia.
The ‘Semi-Batch’ in the name
comes from these units
continually accepting feed
during the run cycle, but only
producing mineral concentrate
during periodic rinse cycles.
Run times range anywhere from
five minutes to several hours,
depending on the application.
Rinse times are generally less
than a minute as Falcon Gravity
Concentrators use a variable
frequency drive and dynamic braking system to
quickly slow the bowl down, rinse out the
concentrate, and then return to full operational
speed. Equipped with a variable frequency
drive, this gravity concentrator can operate
anywhere from 50 to 200 G’s.
