Continued from page 1810 with massively-layered vocal harmonies , fist-pumping choruses and energetic guitar and keyboard solos . Vocalist R . A . Voltaire soars with lofty highs , a melodic mid-range and a knack for storytelling with the fantasy-laden lyrics . “ When the World Was Young ” is the catchiest and most memorable track of the bunch , guaranteed to be a rousing anthemic sing along in the live setting . Mixed and mastered by veteran pro Damien Rainaud ( Dragon Force , Fear Factory , Once Human , Wings of Steel ) with vibrant cover artwork by Moch Luthfi , Honor . Power . Glory . is a fun little package of glorious power metal . Given the nature of the genre , a certain amount of predictability and cheesiness goes along with the territory . However , Glyph doesn ’ t shy away from these characteristics and perform these nine anthems like the valiant warriors they are .

DELROY WILSON Sarge { Doctor Bird )
One of Studio One ' s early rocksteady stars in the ' 60s ( beginning his career at age 13 ), Delroy Wilson made the transition to reggae in the ' 70s by having a soul-melting tenor croon while aligning himself with producer Joe Gibbs and by middecade with producer Lloyd Charmers , on
|
arguably his best album Sarge , powered by his version of The Wailers ’ “ I ’ m Still Waiting ,” a huge selling single on the island in 1976 . Like many reggae albums of the era , the record is chock full of covers , many good ( Ben E . King ' s “ Imagination "), and a few dogs ( Tom Jones ' “ Green Green Grass of Home ”). The album ' s been out of print for a decade ; it ' s now out on CD , augmented with previously unreleased 12 " mixes from vaults of Trojan Records . A second disc also includes the Charmers-produced album , Ken Boothe ' s Boothe Unlimited , in true Kingston street market style . Wilson ’ s rejection of Rastafarianism earned him a few mild enemies ( notably the Clash ), but there ’ s no denying his voice was on the same level as his peers John Holt , Toots Hibbert , and Alton Ellis . Sarge is a good place to start exploring his catalog .
