crawling out of the clubs, motherfuckers throwing bottles and shit; it could get crazy. The first time we ' ve been to a show like that, where we saw moshing and throwing beers, motherfuckers ripping off of shit and helping each other up. I ' m like, yo, this is kind of lit. Back home motherfuckers would have just
gotten stomped on, and that would have been bad. And not saying that it can ' t be like that, because there ' s gangs and shit in the punk scene too, but it wasn ' t. The shit we was going to was just fun. It was good to see the chaos. It ' s infectious, especially because you from the East Coast and you see rap, and rap is either nigga just walking back and forth on stage doing his thing and that shit is ill, or you got 50 niggas on stage, you know what I ' m saying( laughs). That shit ain ' t like that in the rock world. You don ' t have a hundred people on stage; you got the band. And people are just moving around that shit, and that shit is ill to me.
IE: Listening to you guys talk about why those shows attracted you, I can ' t help but think of your own shows. Of course, it’ s different in person, but even watching your videos, you can see and feel all that excitement and adrenaline coming back at you. It’ s
great how you ' ve taken what you found so appealing and you ' re pushing that back out to the crowd. That ' s got to give you some sense of pride right there.
Yeti Bones: It ' s always cool to see the energy. I ' ve told this story millions of times, but at that
first show I went to, Ninjasonik, they did a Bad Brains cover. I didn ' t know anything about Bad Brains at that point. I didn ' t know anything about anything. That was my first show. I remember going home, YouTubing the band I saw, and searching“ Attitude,” and Bad Brains came up. And just the pure energy from the live footage – I didn ' t even listen to the actual audio; I just watched the live video. That moment right there literally flipped the switch for me. It ' s translating live through video, and when you see it live in person, it ' s even more exhilarating. So, you’ ve got to have that aspect of it, too.
theOGM: We like exciting shows. I like it when I go to a show, and it gets me pumped, even if I ' m not going to jump in the pit. If I ' m just watching from the side, I still want to be excited about what I ' m seeing. So, we ' ve always been like that. That ' s why when we play, we ' re not going to short you; you feel me? newreleases October 2
