t ’ s Halloween season and as the temperatures cool , cuddling up with a scary movie is the perfect antidote to the ongoing social distancing still required in a COVID world . Theaters are open , and you can always visit your local cinema , or we have streaming and VOD options for those who prefer to stay at home . There are more than just horror films this month , but be sure to check these out for a little Halloween fun .

Hubie Halloween Directed by Steven Brill Rated PG-13 - October 7th – Netflix
Not all Halloween movies are scary , and this comedy from Adam Sandler might make you laugh . Hubie DuBois ( Sandler ), an eccentric yet well-intentioned Halloween devotee and community volunteer , is often mocked by the Salem , MA townsfolk for his exhaustive efforts ensuring his neighbors safely celebrate the holiday . This year , an escaped convict and mysterious new neighbor put Hubie at the center of a real-life murder investigation on Halloween night . The all-star cast includes Kevin James , Julie Bowen , Ray Liotta , Maya Rudolph , Rob Schneider , Kenan Thompson , Steve Buscemi , Michael Chiklis , Tim Meadows , Noah Schnapp , and Shaquille O ’ Neal .

Alone Directed by Johnny Martin Rated R • October 16th – VOD
A deadly outbreak hits , leaving Aidan ( Teen Wolf ’ s Tyler Posey ) trapped inside his apartment and rationing food . He soon finds his apartment complex overrun by the infected “ Screamers ” as the world falls into chaos . The film also stars Donald Sutherland , Robert Ri ’ chard , and Summer Spiro .
