t RAX TRAX in Chicago, Bifunkal
tracked new music with their amazing
horn section. Blues legend Sugar Blue
was in Studio A with his crew.
Also at Rax Rax Trax, Law Jones Music
layed down new songs in the studio, and duo
As Husband & Wife were back last month,
recording with Andy Shoemaker in Studio A
Grace Blackford's new record, Home, was
engineered and mixed by Daniel Farnsworth,
and stem mastered by Doug McBride at
GRAVITY STUDIOS.
At CRC, Irish hit-maker Hozier's Nina Cried
Power EP was partially tracked in Studio 5, fea-
turing a duet with R&B legend Mavis Staples.
The session was assisted by CRC's Jim Carol.
At SOUNDSCAPE STUDIOS, owner/pro-
ducer Michael Kolar was in Studio A with Jack
Larsen prepping a new track for last month's
“Ones To Watch” performance at Chicago's
Virgin Hotel.
At RANGER STUDIO in Franklin Park,
their soundstage was just rebuilt by their in-
house engineers Ben, Eddie, Carlos and
Marko, and a new all digital light system now
being programmed by Ben Raimondi.
Recent bands booking rehearsal space at
Ranger included Hot Mess, and a showcase
video session with Beggars Banquet.
October events include a memorial for
owner/founder Mike Jones at Muggs ‘n’
Manor in Addison on Saturday 10/13 which
will include a silent auction of Mike's memora-
bilia and Ranger gear. A Halloween bash comes
to the soundstage at Ranger with Funeral
Nation and Witch Cross on October 27
