At one point, Robert used to make Bill Bruford play without using cymbals because the fre- Tony Levin quency of cymbals clashed with his guitar. Is he still insisting on that? TL: The drummers have done a fantastic job of fashioning innovative, unpredictable ways to do their parts. I think that will be a major part of what people love in the show. And the drummers are in the front row on stage, with us all behind them - that plus our surround sound system in the venues, should make their work pretty apparent. IE: Hailing from Rochester, NY as well, I have long followed your career from your days with jazz icon Chuck Mangione to the final recording sessions of John Lennon cut the night of his death. Is there one memory that remains embedded in your brain from all that you have done?
