SPRING MOVIE PREVIEW Marvel Studios' first female-led super- hero film, written and directed by hus- band-wife team Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, follows Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), an ex-Air Force pilot imbued with special superpowers of strength, energy projec- tion and flight after her DNA becomes fused with that of an alien during an acci- dent. Danvers takes on the alter ego of Captain Marvel and joins the alien Kree military team as a member of the galaxy's most powerful intergalactic fighters as Earth becomes stuck in the middle of a war between two alien worlds. The cast includes Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, and Jude Law. By Lori Vernon Us the guise of peace and unity, this film explores the conflict from both the per- spective of the oppressive, collaborative government and the dissident rebellion that rises to fight against it. John Goodman, Vera Farmiga, Kiki Layne, Machine Gun Kelly, Rupert Wyatt, Alan Ruck, Ashton Sanders, Madeline Brewer, Jonathan Majors, David Crockett and Erica Beeney star in what could either be a bril- liant film or a complete flop. March 22 • Rated R Directed by Jordan Peele Adelaide Wilson (Lupita Nyong'o) takes her husband Gabe (Winston Duke) and their two kids to the beachfront home where she grew up. Haunted by a trau- matic experience from the past, Adelaide grows increasingly concerned that some- thing terrible is going to happen to her family. Those fears become a reality when a group of masked strangers, known as "The Tethered" cause tension and chaos for the family. But the real horror begins when the masks come off - and Adelaide and her family come face to face with their doppel- gangers. Shahadi Wright, Elisabeth Moss, Duke Nicholson, Jordan Peele, Winston Duke, Tim Heidecker, and Kara Hayward round out the cast.
