COVER STORY:
FALL OUT BOY
Pete Wentz, Patrick Stump and Fall Out Boy
are back together again after their reunion album
Save Rock and Roll, debuted at #1 on the Billboard
chart. The party has returned. Tom Lanham found
out that Wentz didn't take it all for granted, this
time. And Pete was open to still bolder ideas on
American Beauty/American Psycho. Find out more in
this month's cover story.

HELLO, MY NAME IS TIM
Tim Powles, 20-year veteran drummer for Australia's psychrockers The Church, might have saved the band with his calming
personality, steady drum skills and most importantly - his background as recording engineer/mad scientist and studio boffin.
By 1995 Powles had become a permanent member of the band as
they rolled through their prime indie years on the dreamy psychedelic rock of Hologram of Baal, the steely dreamscapes of
Uninvited Like The Clouds and the psych-jazzy jams of Untitled
#23. Powles told John Vernon what the wild ride has been like
after two decades.

MIKE & THE MECHANICS
Double Feature
At least a couple of decades have passed since Mike + The
Mechanics last visited America, but the group started by guitar
great Mike Rutherford (also a founding and continuous member
of Genesis) is rapidly making up for the absence. In addition to

honor of its 25th anniversary. Mike and company are finally
mounting a new U.S. tour (concluding with two Park West performances March 20 and 21) supported by longtime Genesis concert collaborator/Phil Collins axe-slinger Daryl Stuermer. Andy
Argyrakis talked to the legend.
