The band's 1979 seminal live album, Strangers In The Night, was mostly recorded here. There's no denying that the Michael Schenker years from 1973-78 were the band's most prolific period, but 46 years into its career, UFO still remains relevant. A Conspiracy Of Stars, the band's 22nd album retains their early period sound and deliver 11 hard-driving bluesrock tunes (including bonus track "King Of The Hill"). "The Killing Kind"is a great way to kick off a UFO album, decorated with familiar UFO guitar riffs, Paul Raymond's memorable keyboard accents the solid rhythm section, of bassist Rob DeLuca and drummer Andy Parker. Vocalist Phil Mogg's working class lyrics are present through out the album, delivered in his wispy rasp. Although his voice is a little more seasoned these days, Mogg still performs splendidly. "Run Boy Run"contains a menacing riff and some tasty shredding from Moore, while "Ballad of the Left Hand Gun" possesses jangly guitar and keyboard melodies, giving off a Western gunslinger movie vibe. "Devils in the Detail" contains an infectious chorus and soaring vocal harmonies. However, at the album's midway point, "Precious Cargo" is a little long-winded at almost six minutes, but redeems itself with some tasty improv-like guitar licks at the song's conclusion. "One And Only" gets things back on track and the album ends well with "Rolling Rolling." A Conspiracy Of Stars finds UFO mining a blues-rock style it originated with in 1969. – Kelley Simms 8 JOHN DENVER All Of My Memories: The John Denver Collection Volume 1 (RCA/Legacy) Every few years, one of John Denver's record labels releases an updated retrospective, but often times misses the mark with the omission of a key tune or lack of an essential bonus incentive. Not only does the four CD set correct previous ills, but it's stocked with 90 songs spread across more than five hours. Everything that made the soft-spoken folk hero a household name is here ("Take Me Home, Country Roads," "Rocky Mountain High," "Annie's Song,""Sunshine On My Shoulders"), as are duets with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Emmylou Harris and even Miss Piggy, though the half-dozen previously unissued tracks, rare demos and live tracks are probably most enticing to those who already own the late great's catalogue. A booklet with extensive liner notes and newly unearthed photos adds additional insight, though it's a shame such an otherwise comprehensive coda is housed in a meager digipak (around the size of a Blu-ray case), rather than the lavish box set this should've been. – Andy Argyrakis 7 38 illinoisentertainer.com march 2015 (Kool Kat Music) The New Trocaderos emerged in 2013 as a side project for Brad Marino and Geoff Palmer of The Connection, along with Kurt Baker of The Kurt Baker Band. Both groups had regularly racked up "Coolest Song Of The Week"honors on Little Steven's Underground Garage radio show. Only one of the tracks on Frenzy In The Hips is new, while the other five are taken from the 2014 Kick Your Ass EP and the debut single, "Money Talks" B/W "The Kids." For those who are new to the band, this serves as an impressive introduction to its way of merging garage rock, power pop, and rockabilly into relentless party music. The New Trocaderos issued their mission statement right off the bat with "The Kids,"and they haven't strayed from it since. It's an irresistibly catchy song that celebrates the restless spirit of youth with lines like "This is for the kids rocking out to the radio,"glorious harmonies, and a guitar-driven arrangement that evokes The Paul Collins Beat. "Money Talk" and the Stray Cats-influenced "Real Gone Kitty" are equally relentless, while The New Trocaderos switch gears with the revved-up punk of "Brain Gone Dead" and the Brit \
