IE: Over the years you always managed to surprise me with a variety of voices that you approach your music with. Are you still discovering new ways of applying your voice? JN: In this country they call it schizophrenia (laughter.) I just try to keep them in line now. I've been lucky, I feel, I know that I have a range. I have four octaves at least, for sure. But the song is everything. Even the voice you choose is to serve the song. Whatever serves the song best, whatever delivers IE: What would you say is the biggest misconception of Johnette Napolitano? JN: You have to tell me. People say that I'm a crazy drug addict, and an alcoholic, and I've never been that. And that's about it. I'm very much in control, but I follow where life takes me. I don't believe in livi
