s Hollywood deals with the ongoing WGA strike and the associated fallout in every creative industry , a full summer movie slate of new releases is blazing into theaters . While we may not yet be feeling the full effects of the strike , it will definitely change the coming year as we see indefinite delays on all new productions . The good news is that we have several highly anticipated blockbusters hitting the big screen , including the latest installment of the oft-delayed Mission Impossible franchise , Greta Gerwig ’ s highly anticipated take on Barbie , and Christopher Nolan ’ s historical thriller Oppenheimer .
