and sets his sights on
WWII with his latest
film, which recounts the
various
land-sea-air
efforts to evacuate thou-
sands of Allied troops
trapped by Hitler’s army
on the beaches of
Dunkirk, France, in the
early days of World War
II. This miraculous effort
saved thousands of
Allied soldiers, who were
cut off and surrounded Harry Styles
by the German army in in Dunkirk
May of 1940 when
Germany advanced into France, trapping
Allied troops on the beaches of Dunkirk.
Under air and ground cover from British and
French forces, troops were slowly and
methodically evacuated from the beach
using every serviceable naval and civilian
vessel that could be found during this heroic
mission. Between May 27 – June 4,1940, over
330,000 French, British, Belgian and Dutch
soldiers were safely evacuated to safety. The
film stars Oscar-winner Mark Rylance,
Kenneth Branagh, Fionn Whitehead, Jack
Lowden, Aneurin Barnard, Tom Hardy,
Cillian Murphy, and Harry Styles (yes, that
Harry Styles) in his film debut
