to balance the two worlds. But I don’ t ever want to alienate myself, or create a bubble where I can’ t remember the days when I was a dishwasher at 14 at Pizza Hut, or a busboy at 17 while I was in high school. I want to remember that experience.
IE: Wait a minute. Who prepares your eggs in the morning? M: I have a wonderful, wonderful team around me that makes sure that I’ m healthy. Because obviously my voice is my body, and my body is my health, and my health is my voice. And my schedule is very rigid. It’ s not like the President of the United States, and I’ m not complaining.

But you have a certain amount of things you have to get done, things you have to approve. And because it’ s so personal to so many people, you want to be on time, and you don’ t want to disappoint anyone.

You want to make the show and you want to hit the notes, and you want to show your fans that – 20 years later – you still appreciate what they’ ve done to keep you going.
