But deeper, there are structural similarities between, say, the 5th and IV.I.VIII. The clearest is how the album resolves itself, climaxing at the same speed with which it led off, and before it dove headlong into the blackened/sludge tarpits. More fundamentally, Coffinworm love the idea of motifs, twisting and contorting subatomic melodic (or, in this case, a-melodic) elements until their uses are exhausted. That the architecture is disguised as chaos is a bonus.
