alifornia alt/pop rockers, Counting
Crows, have sold more than 20 million albums worldwide since
exploding onto the music scene with their
multiplatinum breakout 1993 debut album,
August and Everything After. The septet has
consistently ranked as one of the top live
performing bands on the touring circuit
and they can be seen this summer, which
includes a stop at Ravinia on July 14.
The band recently signed a recording
deal with Capitol Records for the fall
release of their forthcoming seventh studio
album, Somewhere Under Wonderland.
Taking a quick break from the studio in
New York, where the band is putting the
finishing touches on the new album, vocalist Adam Duritz talked about the direction
the new music is headed in.
"It's different from other recordings,”
Duritz offered. "The way I wrote was very
different. I didn't write as much in the first
person, more in the third person. I don't
