that’ s just a coming-of-age thing. And age is overrated. It’ s just misunderstood, and I don’ t know why age has to be a stumbling block to anything, As long as you’ re still alive, you’ re still getting through life. But I don’ t think I’ m here to be any kind of spokesperson – I’ m not a sage. I’ m only here to offer what I’ ve always offered – my music, and trying to encourage people to stop killing animals. So my message has never changed.

IE: Well, the new Rolling Stones album of obscure blues covers is one of the best records of 2016. So age doesn’ t matter at all – artists only get better with time.

CH: Right. I heard one track off that, and I agree – they sound great. If you liked their very first album, it was a return to that. And I think doing that is fantastic for them, because that’ s how they started. But what’ s even better for them is when they’ re still writing amazing songs. So I think I’ m at the moment where I’ m a little over looking back. I’ m actually kind of grossed out by looking back. I don’ t think anything about rock’ s past has not been plundered until the last drop of blood has been squeezed out of everything. I remember in 1975, The Beatles seemed to be long, long gone. And I had a friend who put a

Beatles album on, and I almost cried because it took me back to something that I loved very dearly. And that was 1975. Now, you go on another 40 years, and it’ s been excavated until there is nothing left that we don’ t know about everything, and all the old timers seem to be rushing in to claim that they were the best, or they were the first, or that they held the crown for awhile. And frankly, I don’ t see any mystique or magic left in the nostalgia of these things. It’ s like,“ C. mon! Enough is enough!”
