Danstock, The Sequel The second annual Danstock Benefit Showcase to Raise Funds for Melanoma Research at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University will be held Thursday, February 6th at Lincoln Hall. Band Called Catch, Sabers, American Wolf, and DeXter are scheduled to perform. Danstock was organized last year by musician/producer Dan Stock to help victims of the disease that was on the verge of taking his life. Stock passed away last March at age 37, but the benefit now lives on in his honor. The goal for Danstock 2014 is to raise $40,000. Admission is $20, and there are also VIP tickets available for $100.00. - Terrence Flamm 02•2014 Pistol Pete Walker, Guitar Slinger Legendary folk singer, multi-instrumentalist and activist Pete Seeger passed away just as IE went to press on January 27th, leaving an enduring legacy that laid the groundwork for the Dylan/Baez 1960s folk movement, the electrified folk-rock scene that launched in that same decade (lead by the Byrds and Buffalo Springfield) and other country and bluegrass inspired music movements that spawned The Eagles, Jackson Browne and elements of the Alt-Country movement led by Jeff Tweedy's Uncle Tupelo.
