role is still a big one. But also there’s black
rice butternut squash with pomegranate
seeds, with a drizzling of maple syrup. And
it. tastes. AWESOME. And what do we have
instead of turkey? Nothing. I don’t care
because the interesting about vegetarians is
that most of them don’t care. It’s like, “Hey
– don’t worry about me! I can always just
eat salad and French fries!”
IE: How does it feel in this, X's 41st year of
existence?
JD: Nothing could compete with a Grammy
Museum exhibit. And it just moved to the
Woody Guthrie Center in Tulsa. So that was
rewarding. And actually, we did a couple-
week tour with The Psychedelic Furs, and
that was great. Their audience liked us, and
our audience liked them, so we’re going to
try to tour some more with them this com-
ing year. But the other thing that happened
this year is, we signed to Fat Possum
Records, and we now own our own masters
again. So Fat Possum is re-releasing the first
four LPs on vinyl, and they’ll be back up on
iTunes. And Exene and I have been co-writ-
ing new material, plus we got a nice
advance, too.
