Whether New Year's Eve is amateur night or a must night out, we love
to scan the IE music listings to see who is playing on the last night of the
year. In the South Loop, Reggies is giving us lots of choices with Detroit
punks Death, plus Rabble Rabble, Le Tour, El Mejor. They've also
brought back funk godfather Bernie Worrell and his Orchestra, The
Right Now, and Old Grand Dad. Metro hosts Black Joe Lewis, Outer
Minds and DJ sets by Numero Group. The Chicago Theatre is going the
comedy route with Cheech and Chong. The Copernicus Center on the
Northwest Side hosts roots rockers The BoDeans, and Nite Cap brings
out the Cover Dogs. In the suburbs, 7th Heaven is back at the O'Hare
Hyatt Regency, while Lounge Puppets bring their hair metal to
